Hayley and Greg – 05.29.11

Our second wedding of the Memorial Day weekend was the awesome wedding of Hayley and Greg. I started my day by hanging out with the girls at Hayley and Greg’s house while they got ready. Then we headed to the church for the Serbian service which was intricate and beautiful. After formal and fun portraits, it was off to the Radisson for the rockin’ reception.

A special pic with a special pup. ;)

Hayley’s bouquet was simple yet beautiful.

Greg didn’t look too bad himself. ;)

What a better way to pass the time than iPhone Air Hockey!

I love this shot of some of the guests during the service.

Hayley and Greg had shots for their guests of what can only be described as fire water.

Guests threw eco-friendly rice and coins at the couple when they exited the church.

Some of the details from the day:

A Serbian orchestra entertained the guests all throughout the day.

Corissa and Chris – 05.27.11

We have a TON of blog posts coming your way over the next 2 weeks. First up is Corissa and Chris, whose wedding we captured on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We had such a great time and the party was FANTASTIC, even when the power went out!

Corissa’s dad got a little emotional when he gave his daughter away.

After the ceremony, we made a quick stop at Founder’s Hall before we made our way to the Hershey Lodge for the reception.

Some details from the day:

Some of my favorite people were there to celebrate too. You might remember Nicole and James and Jill and Bryan.

Instead of a cake, Corissa and Chris had a chocolate fountain.

Ceremony: St. Paul the Apostle, Annville
Reception: The Hershey Lodge
Flowers: Alison’s Petals
Band: The Uptown Band

Nicole and Jón – 05.22.11

We had such a fantastic time at Nicole and Jón’s wedding this past Sunday. The weather was threatening to rain on their outdoor ceremony but thankfully it held off. When we got to Allenberry, the sun actually came out for a bit! We enjoyed our time hanging out with the girls and guys before the ceremony. I love watching bride’s get transformed on their wedding day! The creekside ceremony was beautiful. There were so many personal touches throughout the day that stole my heart. Nicole and her dad arrived by horse and carriage. Nicole and Jón broke a pretzel during their ceremony then gave guests heart shaped pretzels as favors. There were 1001 origami cranes displayed at the reception. Oh and Nicole made her own wedding cake!!!

We had so much fun and it was awesome to get this email from Nicole this week:

Cyndi,
I just wanted to send a quick THANK YOU to you and Andy for all that you did on Sunday! I knew from the moment we met that it was going to be a fun day, but WOW! We had a Blast! Jon and I are really excited to see how all of the pictures turn out! The 2 of you just made us (and our families) feel so comfortable and relaxed it was like we were just hanging out and maybe having a few photos taken. Both of our families have been going on and on about the same things, that the two of you were very comfortable to work with, had a great eye for different photos and just genuinely nice people. :)
I can not thank you enough! I also wanted to thank you for signing out “Guest Book” Picture, you are one of the reasons that our Wedding Day was so special and I am glad that we will have that as a memory.

Thank You Again! and we’ll be seeing you soon!
Nicole

The wonderful Gia Glinatsis working her magic.

Who ever said bathrooms aren’t pretty?

I loved Nicole’s whole look. It was just perfect.

Jón didn’t look bad either. ;)

Allison and Brian – 05.07.11

This past Saturday was the longest we’ve ever done a wedding coverage. 12 hours!! But we couldn’t have spent it with nicer people. Not only were Allison and Brian gracious and accommodating, but their families and bridal party were so much fun to spend time with. We started at the hotel before heading to the Chapel at Gettysburg College for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we did formal pictures with the family at the chapel before heading out and about in Gettysburg. We went to all different kinds of locations to do photos. It was awesome!! We wrapped up the day with a great party at the Wyndham.

This was my nephew’s wedding and one of the most exquisite ones I have ever been to. Your pictures capture it perfectly!

Katy and Dan – 04.30.11

I have to share a funny story with you all about Katy and Dan’s wedding. Katy and I had communicated by phone and email but had never met in person. And being so recently influenced by the Royal Wedding, I had it in my mind that Katy was going to look like Kate Middleton. I almost laughed out loud when Katy came into the hotel room, looking like Princess Kate’s sister!! ;)

We had a such a great time hanging out with everyone on Saturday. There were so many details!! I will try to explain some of them as I got along. This was also our first visit to Stroudsmoor Country Inn and the location for Katy and Dan’s wedding was stunning. We can’t wait to go back!!

I loved this moment when Katy’s grandmother saw her in her dress for the first time.

Katy was gorgeous, in both looks and personality.

The kiss!!

I captured this image of Katy while we were waiting for the next group of people to join her for a picture. This was shot between the trunks of two trees.

Some of the details from the day.

Katy’s aunt explained the importance of the Wine Maiden tradition. The married couples on Katy’s side were all presented with ones at their wedding and now it was Katy and Dan’s turn. The trick is to drink wine from both cups at the same time without spilling any. Apparently, that brings good luck.

There was also this LARGE boot of beer passed around. I’m not sure what that tradition is all about but no one seemed to mind!!

Dan smashed Katy with cake before the countdown even began. She was totally caught off guard but responded quickly.

Absolutely stunning pictures!! Loved the one of her and Peggy!

Vicki - May 4, 2011 - 9:52 pm

Stunning pictures, Cyndi! Look forward to seeing more. The ‘Wine Maiden’ (while a cute name) is actually referred to as a Bridal Cup or German Wedding Cup. There was a wee bit of German influence at this wedding! :) You captured the couple drinking from the wedding cup beautifully! It will be hard to pick a favorite from these fabulous photos!

Stephanie and Nicholas – 04.16.11

“We make our own sunshine in this family.” That’s what Stephanie said to someone during the deluge that was this past Saturday. And what a beautiful attitude to have when we it rains almost 5 inches on your wedding day.

We started and ended our day at The Peter Allen House. Stephanie and all of her ladies were fun to hang out with while getting ready. We used as much of the house as we could since it was raining outside. We met up with the guys at the church for the ceremony, which was beautiful. Then it was back to the Peter Allen House for the reception. The rain had turned into a complete downpour while we were in the ceremony and that lasted ALL NIGHT LONG!!! It was really just unbelievable. But the staff of The Peter Allen House and JDK can all be commended for an AMAZING job done making sure everything went off without a hitch. And the guests didn’t seem to mind either. Some of them had come from as far away as Italy to attend the wedding. It was a day that we will all never forget!!

Love this image of Nick.

Nothing like a call from Rome to brighten Stephanie’s day!

A whole bunch of Stephanie. She was just glowing.

My favorite. :)

There are so many spots inside the house to shoot. It’s like a photographer’s dream.

Stephanie invited her 4th graders to the ceremony. The thanked her by mobbing her after the ceremony. :)

Some portraits with Stephanie and Nick.

These next two images will show you just what we were dealing with as far as the rain.

Details from the day.

Stephanie’s dad passed away when she was young. There was a table to honor him and a picture. I love this image.

This couple has been married 62 years!!!! Bravo!!
