Alex and Brian – 08.27.11

We apologize for not getting these blogs up sooner. Here’s to hoping there’s no more natural disasters to deal with.

It was Hurricane Irene that came as an uninvited guest to Alex and Brian’s wedding. What was to be a beautiful outdoor ceremony looking over the Columbia in Wrightsville, turned into a ceremony under a tent hunkered down against a driving rain storm. But, we made the most of it, even managing to do all of the family pics outside. (These parents were troopers!!)

All of the details of this wedding were amazing and most were done by Alex herself.

Rachel and Michael – 07.29.11

We capped off our July with the wedding of Rachel and Michael at Riverdale Manor. What was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony turned into a pavilion one thanks to an ill-timed downpour. But we made the most of the time that we did have outdoors for their First Glance, even though it was HOT!! Tears were flowing throughout the day. Even I got weepy behind my camera when Rachel and her dad were coming down the aisle.

Thanks for having us guys! I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon to the top-secret location. ;)

Cricket and Patrick – 07.23.11

Where has this summer gone?!?!? I can’t believe it’s August already and the kids go back to school this month. (Of course, if you know me at all, you know that summer is my least favorite season so I’m kind of glad for it’s quick passing). I’m a little behind in blogging so bear with me as I attempt to catch up over the next week or so. And we’ve got a great announcement coming soon too!

Back on the 23rd of July, we had the pleasure of being welcomed again to Allenberry by the wonderful Heinze family. If you are a loyal KP fan, you may remember Jackie and Kyle’s wedding from 2008. Cricket is Jackie’s sister and we couldn’t have been more happy when she asked us to photograph her wedding too. We’ve done a lot of weddings at Allenberry but it’s never like doing a wedding at Allenberry when one of their OWN gets married. There are always hugs, tears, and cocktails…those you can be sure of! But it’s always the vows and speeches that get to me. Never is love more evident than in the words expressed by this family.

Alright, enough gushing. On to the images….

I loved that I could create an almost identical shot for Cricket that I did for her sister.

Cricket’s wonderful Kate Spade shoes were in honor of Penn State. ;)

Cricket and Patrick decided on a First Glance so we could do family pictures before the wedding.

Meet George, Jackie and Kyle’s son. He is so cute!

I love Cricket’s dad. Simply love him. And I love some of the shots that we got of him. This is him revising his toast in the parlor. I told him he looked like Santa going over his list. ;)

And another…watching over the ceremony prep from the porch.

Patrick and his best man/brother had a fantastic entrance to the ceremony…by canoe!!

I forgot to mention how insanely HOT it was this day. I mean HOT!

The ring bearers were too cute.

Married!

Some details from the day.

Once everyone moved into the nice cool Terrace for the reception, it was time for the toasts and speeches.

:)

Cricket and Patrick’s first dance…

It was an absolute honor to be asked to capture another wedding for the Heinze family. I’m just sad that this is the last of the cousins to be married. Maybe somebody can renew their vows. ;)

Shalee and John – 06.04.11

I can’t believe that this day finally arrived. It seems like forever that we have been waiting for our dear Shalee and John to get married. Not only did I do Shalee’s senior portraits, but she was also my summer nanny for 3 years. My girls LOVE her! So they were beyond excited when she asked them to be flower girls in her wedding. So not only were we capturing the wedding for them, but both of our children were IN the wedding. Talk about craziness!!!

Shalee and John had so many amazing things about their day that were so special because they were meaningful to THEM. I’m going to share some of them here with you all.

John looking handsome.

I love that I caught Shalee’s parent’s wedding portrait in the background.

Cute kid alert!

After we did portraits at the church, everyone hopped in their cars and drove a few miles to the Lykens train station. Shalee and John had arranged for a steam powered tractor to transport the bridal party to the reception location a few miles down the road. (John is a HUGE train buff so this was awesome for him!)

Some details from the day:

When Shalee graduated high school, I had gotten her the book “Oh The Places You’ll Go”. She loved it so much that she used the same book for her guest book. Isn’t that cool???

Some ring shots. And yes, there were board games to play at the reception. Told ya. COOL!

First dance.

Shalee and her dad.

These next two images make me laugh. OK. So here’s the story behind the boxing gloves. When Andy and I got married, one of our Messiah friends gave these gloves to us as a wedding present. We thought it was a hilarious gift and have kept them all these years. So when Shalee and John got engaged, I hatched the plan to pass them on to another Messiah couple and gifted them to Shalee at her bridal shower. Her mom made sure they came to the reception so we could get some images with them on.

It was an amazingly, personal day and we were so blessed to be part of it. Shalee and John – I hope you enjoyed your time in Florida. And even though you are farther away now, I hope you will remain as big of a part of our family as you have been.

Hayley and Greg – 05.29.11

Our second wedding of the Memorial Day weekend was the awesome wedding of Hayley and Greg. I started my day by hanging out with the girls at Hayley and Greg’s house while they got ready. Then we headed to the church for the Serbian service which was intricate and beautiful. After formal and fun portraits, it was off to the Radisson for the rockin’ reception.

A special pic with a special pup. ;)

Hayley’s bouquet was simple yet beautiful.

Greg didn’t look too bad himself. ;)

What a better way to pass the time than iPhone Air Hockey!

I love this shot of some of the guests during the service.

Hayley and Greg had shots for their guests of what can only be described as fire water.

Guests threw eco-friendly rice and coins at the couple when they exited the church.

Some of the details from the day:

A Serbian orchestra entertained the guests all throughout the day.

Corissa and Chris – 05.27.11

We have a TON of blog posts coming your way over the next 2 weeks. First up is Corissa and Chris, whose wedding we captured on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We had such a great time and the party was FANTASTIC, even when the power went out!

Corissa’s dad got a little emotional when he gave his daughter away.

After the ceremony, we made a quick stop at Founder’s Hall before we made our way to the Hershey Lodge for the reception.

Some details from the day:

Some of my favorite people were there to celebrate too. You might remember Nicole and James and Jill and Bryan.

Instead of a cake, Corissa and Chris had a chocolate fountain.

Reception: The Hershey Lodge
Flowers: Alison’s Petals
