Cara and Nick – 09.19.09

I had been looking forward to this wedding since I met with Cara and Nick last year. They are just one of those couples that I clicked with right away. We had such a good time during their engagement session and I’ve seen Cara a couple of times since then. They really do just make my job easy. So when I arrived at Cara’s family home on Saturday, it was like arriving at a friend’s house. The girls were getting ready there after their visit to the salon while the boys were getting ready elsewhere. Cara kept having “moments” where she was brought to tears which was so cute. The ceremony was to be held at Good Shepherd Parish. From there, we stopped at Messiah College for pics with the bridal party. (Where, by the way, I got stung by a bee ON my shooting hand. Thank you to the groomsmen for taking care of me. Then it was off to a secret location that Nick and I had both known about and were dying to shoot at. It did not disappoint, snakeskins and all. Then it was off to Ski Roundtop for their reception. We had such a fun time with Cara, Nick and their bridal party. They really did make our job easy.

Karen and Brian – 07.18.09

I love Karen and Brian. No seriously. Ever since our engagement session, I’ve been looking forward to their wedding. Karen has been doing most of the planning from a distance so we’ve chatted several times on the phone throughout the past couple of months. She is one of the most genuine people that I’ve ever met. So I knew we were going to have a good day. We started our coverage with getting ready for both the guys and the girls. I knew from Karen’s description of her dress that I would love it and I did. It had POCKETS!!!! How cool is that??!! Karen and Brian had decided to see each other before the ceremony. So we orchestrated their First Glance at Harrisburg Country Club, where both their ceremony and reception were to take place. Then it was off to State Street with the bridal party to do some creative stuff before the ceremony. Then back to the Country Club for the ceremony which was beautiful. What a perfect day for cocktail hour outside on the patio too. I think the guests were a little reluctant to move indoors for the reception. But the dance floor was packed the whole night! And nothing could be more fitting to the end of a July wedding than to have a sparkler send off.

I loved this moment during the ceremony. Karen’s mom started crying as her daughter walked down the aisle. Karen’s grandmother leaned over and put her arm around her.

Nicole and James – 06.13.09

This past Saturday, we captured the wedding of Nicole and James. And what a wedding it was with 300 guests in attendance! Allison and I met up with Nicole at her parent’s home while Lindsey went to meet up with James and the boys. Nicole’s dress, a Rina di Montella, was absolutely gorgeous. It was very hard for me to narrow down the images we captured of Nicole because there were so many good ones. After everyone was ready and the limo “short bus” arrived, it was off to St. Catherine’s for the ceremony. James got a little emotional when Nicole and her dad walked down the aisle, but so did a lot of other people! After quick family portraits at the church, it was off to the Capitol for pictures with the bridal party. We went in front of, behind and inside the Capitol doing all sorts of portraits. When we wrapped up, it was just a short ride to the Harrisburg Hilton where cocktail hour was underway. There were so many awesome details, from the caricature of the bride and groom to the race car ice sculpture. Once the doors opened to the Harrisburg Ballroom and guests were seated, the party got under way. In fact, it was still going strong when we left!

I was one of Nicole’s Elementary School teachers who attended the wedding and reception. She was a beautiful girl then and she is an even more beautiful woman now. Michelle and Matt – 06.06.09

The theme for this past Saturday for Klose Photography was two-fold: Michelle and TRAFFIC. (Traffic issue #1 was me having to report to our second wedding to cover for Lindsey who was stuck in traffic.) Saturday was the PERFECT day for a June wedding in Central PA. Allison, Maureen and I had the privilege of spending it with Michelle and Matt. We started our day with the girls at Michelle’s parent’s home and with the boys at the Camp Hill UMC. (Traffic issue #2 – Allison got stuck in traffic on the way!) Despite some initial concerns that guests would be late arriving because of traffic issue #3 (a bad accident on 322), the ceremony went off without a hitch. Then it was off to Italian Lake for portraits with Michelle and Matt and their bridal party. After we finished up at the Lake, it was off to the Harrisburg Hilton for the reception. The dance floor was filled with great dancers all night!
