Amy and Brian – 05.24.09

Our second wedding of last weekend was the wedding of Amy and Brian at Lauxmont Farms in the Rotunda area. We arrived to cover getting ready with the girls at the Rotunda and the boys at Amy and Brian’s home in Wrightsville. Amy told me she wanted a “casual elegant” wedding with lots of details and that’s what she got! The girls wore simple navy dresses and the boys wore khaki suits. The flowers were a PERFECT match to the theme. The ceremony was beyond beautiful on the hill overlooking the river and the horses. It really is one of the scenic ceremony sites in Central PA. After the ceremony, we hung out with the bridal party doing some fun shots and then it was time for the reception to begin. It was one of those late afternoons where it was hard to keep people inside so we wondered inside and out, capturing it all.

Laura and Drew – 09.27.08

What a day! Last Saturday’s wedding will definitely be one that I will never forget. First of all, let me say that Laura and Drew are an amazing couple. They booked me in 2006 and we’ve become good friends since then. Laura has been waiting for her wedding day for a very long time. So when the rain started on Saturday morning before I even left the house, I was heartbroken for her. When Lindsey, Allison, and I arrived at Lauxmont Farms, it was still raining. When Laura and the girls arrived, guess what? It was still raining. Can you sense a theme? I hung out with the girls in the farmhouse while Lindsey and Allison went to find the boys at the pool house. Laura and Drew were determined to go through with their ceremony in the Sunken Gardens. So we all met up again, donned what rain gear we had, held our umbrellas and snapped away. It was the absolute wettest ceremony I have ever experienced. The guests were troopers, most still sitting in chairs with their umbrellas, but most of all Laura and Drew were troopers. They made it through the entire ceremony with the rain pouring down on them and thunder rolling a few times. It wasn’t until after we had done all the family portraits did it stop raining and we were certainly happy it did. The bridal party was up for anything and since Laura’s dress was already dirty, she and Drew allowed us to be really creative. After our portrait fun, we made our way into the tent for the reception. Even though we were all wet and some of us were muddy :) , everyone seemed to have a great time with DJ Freez spinning the music. Oh and we all had a special surprise when the wedding occurring next to us at the Japanese Gardens had a HUGE fireworks display.

As always, below are some of my favorites and CLICK HERE FOR THE SLIDESHOW.

I love this shot of Drew in the rain overlooking the ceremony site.
