Stephanie and Nicholas – 04.16.11

“We make our own sunshine in this family.” That’s what Stephanie said to someone during the deluge that was this past Saturday. And what a beautiful attitude to have when we it rains almost 5 inches on your wedding day.

We started and ended our day at The Peter Allen House. Stephanie and all of her ladies were fun to hang out with while getting ready. We used as much of the house as we could since it was raining outside. We met up with the guys at the church for the ceremony, which was beautiful. Then it was back to the Peter Allen House for the reception. The rain had turned into a complete downpour while we were in the ceremony and that lasted ALL NIGHT LONG!!! It was really just unbelievable. But the staff of The Peter Allen House and JDK can all be commended for an AMAZING job done making sure everything went off without a hitch. And the guests didn’t seem to mind either. Some of them had come from as far away as Italy to attend the wedding. It was a day that we will all never forget!!

Love this image of Nick.

Nothing like a call from Rome to brighten Stephanie’s day!

A whole bunch of Stephanie. She was just glowing.

My favorite. :)

There are so many spots inside the house to shoot. It’s like a photographer’s dream.

Stephanie invited her 4th graders to the ceremony. The thanked her by mobbing her after the ceremony. :)

Some portraits with Stephanie and Nick.

These next two images will show you just what we were dealing with as far as the rain.

Details from the day.

Stephanie’s dad passed away when she was young. There was a table to honor him and a picture. I love this image.

This couple has been married 62 years!!!! Bravo!!

Kara and Michael – 03.19.11

Here it is. First wedding of the season!!!!!!! And we were ready. Combine a fun couple, a classic car, and a Super Moon with other fantastic vendors to work with and we were H-A-P-P-Y.

There were so many cute kids at this wedding that they almost deserve their own blog post.

We didn’t spend any getting ready time with Kara and Michael. So we’ll just jump right into the ceremony. This is Riley, Kara and Michael’s daughter. This was actually about 30 seconds before a minor meltdown occurred. ;)

Some beautiful portraits of Kara:

Portrait time at Founder’s Hall was made even more fantastic with the addition of Kara’s grandfather’s pristine ’59 Thunderbird.

Love that I got Kara’s dad in this one. Like he’s chaperoning. ;)

Some details of the day. I honestly LOVED the way that the Antique Auto Museum looked. It was beautiful.

Kara’s grandmother made the pizzelles that surrounded the cake.

This was my most treasured moment of the night. A little backstory. Father Tim was actually Kara’s cousin. Not only was it special to her to have him perform the ceremony, but it was even more special because he is blind. During the ceremony, he mentioned how he couldn’t wait to dance with Riley at the reception. I was so touched capturing this moment that I got weepy. I think it just oozes LOVE.

So the season is off to a great start! We hope you’ll stick around the blog all throughout 2011 to see what we come up with.

Amber and Eric – 12.31.10

What a way to end 2010!!!! We had an amazing time with Amber and Eric for their big wedding day. Plus we got to work with some of the best vendors around. And all of the details were amazing. From the $50,000 diamond necklace to the custom reception lights, everything was sparkly and fun!

Now for the images:

Amber and Eric exchanged gifts before the wedding. This is Amber reading Eric’s card. It’s one of my favs from the day.

Amber getting in her dress.

A bridal portrait at the Capitol.

Married!

Amber and Eric left the Capitol flanked by sparklers. So pretty!

Portrait time! We had fun with these two. Who cares if it was already dark outside!?!

The party bus. And oh what a party it was. ;)

Some details of the day:

And the stunning details done by JDK:

I loved this moment during the father-daughter dance.

Things got a little messy with the cake. ;)

Green Eggs ROCKED it out!!! They seriously brought any amazing energy to the night.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Thanks everyone for a great 2010! We are already looking forward to our 2011 weddings!

Stephanie and Dan – 11.21.09

Stephanie and Dan’s wedding was rather unique. Not only was the ceremony held in the Capitol Rotunda but the reception was held at a private social club in downtown Harrisburg. And all throughout the day, Stephanie and Dan made sure everything was filled with their little touches: passing the rings around to all of the guests during the reception, hanging prints of them and their family and friends on the walls of the gallery, and having some amazing food!

Bridgit and Ryan – 07.18.09

Dare to be different. That should have been the theme of Bridgit and Ryan’s wedding. From Bridgit’s feather purse to the gray tuxes to the couples’ shoes, everything was just the way that Bridgit and Ryan wanted it. Lindsey and Andy had the privilege of capturing the wedding on Saturday. Everything took place at Wind in the Willows in Grantville. The ceremony took place beside the lovely pond and the reception was inside the barn. What a cool place! And Bridgit and Ryan had one more surprise for their guests. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple had an ice cream sundae bar complete with homemade hand-dipped ice cream. YUMMMMM!!

Below are some favorites. CLICK HERE for the slideshow.

Bridgit’s bouquet was made entirely of gardenias.

And a special one just for our friends with the Event Planning Network (EPN). Melissa and Tina were the coordinators for this wedding but they are also Bridgit’s friends and bosses. Yep. You guessed it. Bridgit is an EPN girl too. :)
