What a lovely family!!

This is such a sweet family! I knew Ashleigh and Ryan from high school. But this was the first time meeting their kids. And we had so much fun! I love doing family portraits in the fall. And this family is so photogenic that it made my job super easy. ;)

The kids…being cute.

Ashley and Ryan.

The boys.

The girls.

We told the kids if they were good, we would go to the playground. And how cool is it that it just happened to have a slide built for three?

The kids…just being kids!!!

The L Family – Portrait Session

I’m so happy to finally be posting this session. It feels like forever ago that we had set up this session and thankfully, the weather was awesome when the time rolled around. The L family were wonderful to work with and it was awesome to get everyone (including a pooch!) in the pictures.

Cameron had this hat that he was playing with.

Colin just had his blue eyes. ;)

The ladies!

Gretchen and her boys.

The whole family…all looking at the camera at the same time. WOO HOO!!! :)

Cameron and I have this special bond where he likes to run right at my camera.

Sweet little puppy!!

LOVE this picture of a grandpa with his two boys.

No trip to Ft. Hunter is complete without a stop by the swings.

The “W” Kids

I’ve been meaning to blog this session for awhile and kept forgetting. So I apologize Mom for not getting these on sooner. I met up with Allie and AJ at Fort Hunter for their session. Mom just wanted some casual, outdoor, fun shots and we did exactly that! After these two sweeties warmed up a bit, we trapsed all around Fort Hunter, went to play in the river, and finally ended up at the playground. Besides all of the bug bites I got, I had a great time! Thanks guys for again reminding me why I love my job.

It’s always interesting to me to see the way that siblings naturally hold each other. I just let them do what comes natural.

Fun at the playground. AJ was making me work for these. :)

My latest session with my favorite family

It’s been TOO long since I’ve had the privilege of doing a session for Kade and Emily’s family. I couldn’t believe how big he had gotten when I arrived. And little Miss Emily…oh my. She is SUCH a cutie. Mom and Dad had requested that we do the session at their home for a couple of reasons. One of which is that they have this creek that runs behind their house. But I’ll get there. First things first. We did the family portraits first, then switched outfits for the kids. After we had done all of that, we let the kids get in the creek. Apparently this was the first time they had been allowed in there so it was such a joy for me to capture it. Of course, I got in too and let me tell you. It was COLD! But they had such a blast throwing rocks and looking for “fishies”.

I’m warning you now. I had a VERY hard time choosing images for the blog so there are A LOT!!

I LOVE dirty toesies. No portrait session should be complete without letting the kids get dirty.

You’ll notice a lot of vintage looking shots. I did this because that’s the feeling I was getting from the images. That’s also the feeling I get from this family.

Emily was not happy with the shock of the cold water. But she got used to it pretty quickly.

Told ya I liked Kade’s overalls. :)

A FUN Family!

On Saturday, I visited with my friend Brandi and her family for a quick session. They wanted to have some prints made for Mother’s Day coming up. We had made plans to meet at the Sunken Gardens in Harrisburg but the rain put a damper on that. So we came up with the alternate planning of doing the session inside at a family member’s house. As luck would have it, by the time our session rolled around, the sun was out and shining so we did some shots inside and out. All of the kids were hyped up (pre-Easter excitement?) but I really did have any awesome time with all their chaos. Here are just a few favorites:

My Favorite Family (besides my own)

When Shalee (my awesome babysitter friend) recently asked me to take some images of her and her brothers as a surprise for their parent’s anniversary, I of course said yes. I love this family and would do anything for them. So on a cold, ICY day, we all met up at Fort Hunter for their quick session. Here are just two of my favs:
