So we’ve already determined that this past Saturday was HOT! I mean really HOT! I felt bad for Krissy because she had planned this amazing early summer wedding banking on the expected high 70 degree weather and instead she got the dog days of summer weather. But the day went on and I have to say that the heat made for some great opportunities for us.
We arrived at Allenberry early afternoon to get some getting ready shots of everyone. The girls were tucked away in the Mansion House while the guys were hanging out in the Pine Lodge. We worked as quickly as we could to get any outside shots because everyone was so hot in their attire. ESPECIALLY the boys in their 3 piece black pinstripe suits with black shirts. (Remember this detail for later) The AC was working overtime and all of the bridal party stayed hidden and cool until the start of the ceremony which was occurring creekside along the Yellow Breeches. There ceremony, complete with kayakers going by in the creek, was beautiful, although a little hot. After the receiving line, we spent some time with the families and bridal party doing portraits and then spent some time alone with Krissy and Troy. While I was working with them, the groomsmen decided they had had enough. They stripped out of those tuxes I mentioned early, right down to their boxers, and jumped in the creek. You should have seen the expression on Krissy’s face! After we were done with the bridal couple, the boys convinced Troy to join them until it was time to go into the ballroom for the reception. The heat definitely didn’t affect anyone’s energy because the dance floor was packed the entire evening.
Thanks Krissy and Troy for having us. I joked with them that they were the HOTTEST couple of the year.
Now for the images…
Told you they were HOT!
First Dance.
Yum. Allenberry is famous for their sticky buns. So we thought that we would use one for a ring shot.
Krissy and Troy gave everyone scatch off lottery tickets as favors. LOVE this shot.
Krissy’s grandparents were so cute!! And believe it or not, one of them was 86 and one was 90!
