Stephanie & Jason 08.09.08

Hi everyone! This is Lindsey, last Saturday Andy and I were at the Milestone for the wedding of Stephanie and Jason. The weather was absolutely perfect and, minus the destruction of Stephanie’s favorite t-shirt, the wedding was as well. Everyone was getting ready at the Milestone and Stephanie and the girls couldn’t help but peek out the window every few minutes to see the guests arriving. Jason was blown away when he saw Stephanie walking down the aisle. I love being close enough that I heard him say “WOW!” The speeches before dinner where hilarious and I’m sure Jason will never forget them!! After dinner we were able to sneak away with the bride and groom (though we couldn’t fool Jason’s Mom!!) and head out to the river to get some great portraits of the two of them. The day was all about family and having fun and I have to say that Stephanie and Jason have GREAT taste in music.

The dress.

Stephanie had to get cut out of her shirt so her hair wouldn’t get messed up.

I love this shot of Stephanie’s shoes. She was hiding behind the bridesmaid’s dresses waiting for help to put her dress on.

A simple portrait before the ceremony.

Stephanie and her sister, rockin’ out having their pictures taken.

The fans were beautiful but with the perfect weather they didn’t get used much.

The cake topper made me laugh.

They didn’t mess around when choosing a cake knife, it was custom made by a blacksmith and was very stunning.

The boys were so handsome.

The kiss.

The first dance.

There were a ton of kids and they all had a great time between chasing down candy and then running off to play Guitar Hero.

This little girl was so cute, she was amazed by the disco ball.

Jennifer and Jared - 08.09.08

I really can’t believe the weather we’ve been having lately. It honestly feels more like fall than it does August. But we weren’t complaining when Saturday dawned absolutely beautiful for the wedding of Jennifer and Jared. We were fortunate enough to have our friend Erik Matey shooting with us. Erik met up with the boys at St. Theresa’s while Allison and I headed over to Jennifer’s parent’s home for getting ready shots. Despite a tiny little mishap with the dress (yes, you CAN remove blood from a wedding gown), everything went smoothly with getting ready. I loved that Jennifer’s dad was so emotional when he saw her in her gown for the first time. When they were ready, the girls hopped on to the trolley (affectionately called the “Barney” trolley) and headed to the church. The ceremony was a wonderful interfaith one incorporating aspects of both the Catholic and Jewish faiths. After a bubble exit and a few quick shots in the church, we headed to Chocolate Avenue where Jennifer had requested we get a shot of her and Jared in front of the Kissing Tower. Erik and I arrived ahead of the trolley and immediately saw the mini carnival that a local church was hosting to benefit kids with cancer. The centerpiece of the fair was a Moon Bounce. Erik and I looked at each other and said “wouldn’t it be cool…”. ;) As soon as Jennifer saw it she said let’s get in there. I could have kissed her!! She and Jared jumped to their hearts content and were even interviewed by the Hershey Chronicle!! After the fun at the fair, we headed to the Hershey Country Club for more portraits and the reception. The reception spanned pretty much the entire Club with guests moving from room to room and building to building. It was an awesome, fun reception that capped off the perfect day.

Now for the images…

Tiffany boxes just make my day!

Crossing Chocolate Avenue…

THE MOON BOUNCE!!!

My favorite of the day.

I love this shot from Erik.

The cake was HUGE (and yummy too).

Jennifer’s excitement was SO infectious.

The guests moved from the ballroom to the pavilion for the dancing part of the reception.

It was such a beautiful evening.

Thanks Jennifer and Jared for making us feel so welcome. And I am so jealous that you are where you are right now!!

Katie and Ben - 08.02.08

Katie and Ben have been looking forward to this day for a long time. It was with that excitement that we were greeted on Saturday. Andy met the guys at West Shore Country Club while Maureen and I headed to meet the girls at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East for the getting ready stage of the game. There are days when I capture so many great moments during getting ready that the rest of the day has a lot to live up to. This was one of those days but let me tell you the rest of the day didn’t disappoint.

After the ceremony at Seven Sorrows, the bridal party boarded a trolley (that came the whole way from Baltimore) and off we went to Milton Hershey’s private mansion which is now headquarters of the Hershey Trust. You have to get special permission to shoot on the grounds which Ben took care of for us and we took advantage of all the time we had there. After we had exhausted every opportunity, we headed to West Shore Country Club for some more portraits before heading in to the reception. The reception had a few surprises, including Ben playing the piano during the father daughter dance.

Now on to the images…

Loved the countdown clock that was on the counter when we arrived.

Julian, the ring bearer, watching some toons before the ceremony.

Getting into the dress.

Some detail shots at Seven Sorrows.

A sweet moment between Katie and Ben at the end of the ceremony.

We spent some time with the kids while the adults were doing the receiving line.

This shot is so funny. I posed the 3 flower girls on this bench, then I turn around…

…to this…

The grounds of the mansion were amazing.

I LOVE black magic roses.

Then off to West Shore Country Club for a few more shots before the party began.

The rings.

Lindsay and Tom - 07.25.08

OK - So I take back everything I said before about it always being hot for weddings now. Friday was BEAUTIFUL for the wedding of Lindsay and Tom. I have to admit that I was looking forward to this wedding for awhile and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We started our day at Lindsay’s house and spent some time there while her and the girls got ready. Lindsay has 3 sisters and the nicest parents in the world. I thought the day wasn’t going to get any better when I saw Lindsey for the first time all dressed and ready. But, then the “limo” came. It was an amazing vintage Daimler (just like the royal family uses). It went so well with Lindsay’s look that I could have shot all day! Then it was off to St. Catherine’s Laboure for the ceremony. The sun was shining so beautifully through the stained windows. After the ceremony, it was off to the Civic Club for the reception. By the time we arrived there, the weather was just gorgeous and the guests were enjoying cocktail hour in the garden. So we grabbed Lindsey and Tom and walked around a little doing some creative portraits on Riverfront. And it was golden hour so the light was AMAZING! After we finished up it was inside for the reception which had an incredible dinner party like atmosphere with guests up and mingling all night.

All right. Enough talking. Now for the images.

You’ll have to forgive me for the amount of images of just Lindsay but she was just stunning!

A fun shot inside the car.

Moments before the ceremony.

Tom’s dad kneeling for a moment before the ceremony.

A great capture during the ceremony.

I did a little happy dance after this image. :)

The cake, designed by Lindsay and Tom and created by About Weddings.

The Civic Club looked awesome with the luminaries.

I just have to say a special thank you to our hosts. Lindsay and Tom’s family were such gracious hosts and a true pleasure to work with. They made us feel like part of the family!

But wait….there’s more!!!!!!!!!

On Sunday afternoon, I met Lindsay and Tom at the Capitol for their Day After Session. Lindsay and Tom met at the Capitol (Tom is a Press Secretary there) so they wanted to make sure that they got some shots there. And with Tom’s credentials we were allowed inside the Capitol after it had closed, which was AWESOME!! We walked around the Rotunda, visited Tom’s office, and then had some close encounters with the fountain. These two are SO easy to work with that I truly could have shot all day again!

Lindsay went veil-less for this session and I loved the look because it was so her.

I LOVE THIS IMAGE!!!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Lindsay and Tom for allowing me to spend most of the weekend with them. It was my pleasure!

Kelli and Mike - 07.19.08

Last Saturday, just back from vacation, Lindsey and I headed to Carlisle for the wedding of Kelli and Mike. I had the pleasure of doing their engagement session in Annapolis awhile back and quickly learned that Mike HATES having his picture taken. So with that in mind, we headed to the church to meet up with both the guys and the girls. Mike was nervous but smiling which was a really good sign for us! After the ceremony and a fun bridal party shot, we headed to the Holiday Inn West for their reception. I was so blown away by their cake that I had to track down Cindy from About Weddings to tell her how amazing it was!

On to the images…

The kids at this wedding were SO CUTE!!

Kelli was beautiful in her gown.

A cool capture of Mike before the wedding.

I love this shot that Lindsey grabbed during the ceremony.

See…told you.

This is Jayden, Kelli’s nephew, during cocktail hour. He was OUT!!

A couple of cool ring shots.

The AMAZING cake.

Kelli’s sister, Jayme, got a little emotional during the toasts.

One of my favorites of the day.

Thanks Kelli and Mike for putting up with us!!

Casey and John - 07.12.08

Alright everyone. I know you have been waiting for blog posts (trust me, I’ve read all of your emails begging for them). So this is just a little note to let you know that there will be blog posts for the next 5 days so stay tuned.

We’re starting with the lovely wedding of Casey and John two Saturdays ago. Now that we are into the dog days of summer, every wedding is going to be hot. So I think we can just assume that it was a little warm on their day. ;) Allison and I started at Casey’s mom’s house with the girls and Andy hung out at the church with the guys. We all met up for a beautiful ceremony and then it was off the the West Shore Country Club for pictures before going inside. (A very special thanks to Steve for leading us around in the golf carts and holding the bouquet!) Then inside we all went to cool off and enjoy the music of Cruise Control (for our second week in a row!).

Now for the good stuff…

One of my favorites of the day.

John and the boys.

LOVE this shot. John is reading a card from Casey.

The lovely Casey right before the ceremony.

I love Casey’s mom and sister in the front of this shot leaning in to catch a glimpse of the bride coming down the aisle.

Off in the golf carts for some portrait time at the country club.

I couldn’t decide between these next two so you get both.

Ashley and Tom - 07.05.08

Saturday was an early day for Lindsey and I. The ceremony of Ashley and Tom was at 11am so we were up and at ‘em earlier than usual. We met up with everyone at St. Catherine’s for any pre-ceremony shots we could get out of the way before it was time for the big event. Ashley was stunning in her dress and even though she got ready in a not so stunning room, we were able to get some nice shots. After formals at the church, we headed north to the Country Club of Harrisburg where the reception was to be held. Tom was gracious enough to drive us around in a golf cart as we scouted out places for pictures. Cruise Control had the dance floor packed and it stayed that way all afternoon.

Ashley’s bouquet was the centerpiece of the day.

We found a little spot of natural light.

The flower girl was THE CALMEST flower girl I had ever seen.

We do love kids at weddings.

The stained glass at St. Catherine’s in AMAZING.

Julie and Nick - 06.28.08

Well the rain held off for most of the day. Actually Saturday turned out to be a fairly decent day. Except for the half hour that it POURED while the girls (and Lindsey and I) were arriving at the church. But I’ll get to that in a minute. Lindsey, Allison and I had the pleasure of capturing Julie and Nick’s wedding this past Saturday. Lindsey and I started with the girls at the Julie’s parent’s house while Allison headed to the church, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Harrisburg. With an eye to the sky and the radar, the girls got ready and then off we went to the church, under VERY threatening skies. By the time we got to the church, there was literally a river running down 3rd Street. Although the girls and some of the guests were a little damp from getting into the church, the ceremony went off without a hitch. After a few portraits at the church, we all headed to the lovely Peter Allen House where we did some more portraits before the reception really got started. The food was fantastic and the guests really seemed to enjoy roaming the house and grounds of the Peter Allen House. I have to mention the special dances from Saturday. I was close enough to hear the conversations between Julie and her dad as well as Nick and his grandmother and I can say that I got a little weepy at both of them. And after a long, hot day working, Lindsey and I stopped at 3B Ice Cream on the way home as a treat to ourselves!!

Now on to the pictures… (and there are lots so bear with me)

I love it when the bride gets ready in her childhood room.

Julie had a whole bulletin board of soccer patches. What a cool spot for the rings.

I love this capture by Lindsey of Julie’s mom.

A couple of great captures at the ceremony.

My favorite of the day.

A couple of quick portraits….

…and then off to Peter Allen House

A few details from the reception…

Yummm….cupcakes….

…and Sangria with blueberries!!

Apparently the Spice Girls made an appearance… ;)

Jena and Troy - 06.21.08

As Andy said, Klose Photography took over Hummelstown on Saturday. Lindsey and I had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Jena and Troy. I started with the girls at Jena’s parents house while Lindsey hung out with the guys at Jena and Troy’s house. We all met up at Grace UMC in Hummelstown for the ceremony. Then everyone packed into the Hummer limo and off we went to Founder’s Hall for pictures with the bridal party. After we were done trapsing around, it was back in the cars and off to the Susquehanna Club in New Cumberland for the reception. DJ Mark Hoover had the crowd hopping.

I saw this on Jena’s parent’s fridge when I arrived.

The dress and shoes.

I LOVE this shot of Jena’s sister helping her put her necklace on. LOVE IT!

Jena was a beautiful, natural-looking bride.

The girls.

Look at those eyes.

Thanks Jena and Troy for having us. You are a fantastic couple and we wish you years of happiness.

Lara and Shawn - 06.21.08

Last Saturday Klose Photography was in 2 churches in Hummelstown at almost the same time. First up, Anne and I (Andy, I know this is a first!) had the privilege of capturing Lara and Shawns’ wonderful day. Anne started the day at Lara’s parents’ house with the girls, while I met up with the guys for some quick portraits and fun images. The ceremony was held at Trinity UMC. Everyone then packed the limo for the quick ride to the reception at the Hershey Country Club. Fred Behney from SoundWave DJ’s kept the dance floor full and the party rolling along. We even encountered a few worried moments as we had a scavenger hunt for a wallet;) It all worked out and it was a great day.

OK, on to the pics.

Love Lara’s expression

Shawn’s gift to the guys were these personalized putters.

We had to be a little creative with our portraits due to another event, but we found a nice spot.

Lara is a teacher so we thought this ring shot was appropriate;)

A different take on the first dance.

Congratulations guys, Anne and I had a great time.
