Meghan and John – 10.02.10

The second in our double-header this past weekend was Meghan and John’s wedding on Saturday. Lovely colors, details and people were everywhere!

I love getting ready time. It’s seriously one of the favorite parts of a wedding day for me.

I love this shot.

Meghan was a beautiful bride.

I love this moment between Meghan and her mom. It made me teary.

John reading Meghan’s card.

Some great ceremony images.

Meghan wanted pictures inside the Capitol but it was already booked for a wedding. But we did manage to get into the Matthew Ryan Building, which is smaller in scale but equally as beautiful.

Hannah – Senior Session

What a blast I had hanging out with Hannah for her session! We had to move the time up because of the chance of rain and my goodness it was HOT during her session. But you’d never know it from her images. She just went with it!

We started out and about and then ended up back at the studio, where we enjoyed the AC and cold beverages immensely!

Wyatt – 1 YEAR!

So we have finally reached the end of Wyatt’s first year. We capped off his package with a session and coverage at his birthday party. And…wait for it…he FINALLY smiled at the camera!!!!!! :) I was so happy.

The Birthday Boy only had one minor meltdown. :)

Swimming!

CAKE!

Jana and Justin – 09.05.09

I will tell you what I told Justin on the day of his wedding: I’ve never had a bride quite like Jana. (He jokingly said neither have I, which I thought was really cute.) But seriously, Jana has to be one of the most unique people I’ve ever met. We arrived late morning at the Milestone Inn, where both the guys and girls were getting ready. The guys had some fun playing pool and drinking some beverages :) before heading to the church. Jana and the girls were styled by the fabulous girls from Moxie. Then it was time for Jana to put on her dress. It was just stunning! The bridesmaids took the shuttle to the church but Jana and her dad drove over separately. Apparently, he wanted some “Daddy Time” before the ceremony. The ceremony was held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Harrisburg. And while it wasn’t extremely hot, the church doesn’t have air conditioning. Jana got a little hot during the receiving line which is why I had to put the picture of her in front of the fan in the slideshow. After we did some quick family portraits in the church, things got interesting. (And this is where I truly wish I would have had a video camera.) Jana wanted to do some urban shots AND she just wanted to walk. So off we went marching down 3rd Street, all 20 or so of us! We cut up Emerald, passed a block party, and turned onto 2nd Street and headed towards the Milestone. We were only about 3 blocks away when the shuttle picked us up. We totally could have made it! When we arrived back at the Milestone, it was time for everyone to cool off. And of course, Jana had planned the reception to be a “do as you please” event. You could eat when you wanted to, watch movies, smoke cigars, have your picture taken in the photo booth, etc. It was really a unique reception!

Garden Update #2 – in honor of Earth Day

A lot of you have been emailing about the progress of our garden. I’ve also been hounded by my husband to give you all an update too. :) So since we last blogged about it, we’ve made a lot of progress. Many different cold weather loving plants have gone into the ground. Some are doing OK and some aren’t. But it’s all a learning process, right? The biggest project has been the installation of the 6 foot tall split-rail fence. Actually that’s the first stage of the fence project. We are now working on the putting a secondary metal fence on the split rail to keep all of the critters out. (We have deer, foxes, groundhogs, rabbits and whatever else comes out of the woods.) We’re hoping to have the fence and gate completed this weekend. We’ve also installed a rain barrel and built a compost bin out of old wood that we had in the garage.

I took some pics recently to show you all our progress.

An overall look of the garden and shed.
