Christina and Jeff – 09.26.09

Phooey on the rain!! We are so tired of it raining on wedding days. But it didn’t seem to phase Christina and Jeff at all. When I heard it raining during the ceremony at St. Catherine’s, I knew that we were going to have to go to plan B for our outdoor portraits. But Christina and Jeff rolled with us through all of the punches and we had a fantastic time!!

We captured some great moments on Saturday. Below are our favorites:

Kerry and Matt – 09.19.09

Kerry and Matt were married on Saturday Harrisburg at the beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral. These two were so gracious throughout the day that it felt like we were invited guests. I guess that is what you get when over half of the wedding was from ‘the South’ The ladies prepared for the festivities at the Harrisburg Hilton and then boarded the trolley to St. Patricks. After the ceremony we captured some images on State Street and played with the sun before heading to the Hilton for cocktail hour and a great reception. Mark Hoover kept the floor packed. I am not sure I have seen a reception in which the groom was on the dance floor more than the bride. Kerry and Matt had a nice touch as both of their parents were granted a spotlight dance in which their wedding songs were played. I loved watching both sets of parents dancing and singing to each other as if they were just married yesterday. Two good examples for Kerry and Matt to emulate.

Cara and Nick – 09.19.09

I had been looking forward to this wedding since I met with Cara and Nick last year. They are just one of those couples that I clicked with right away. We had such a good time during their engagement session and I’ve seen Cara a couple of times since then. They really do just make my job easy. So when I arrived at Cara’s family home on Saturday, it was like arriving at a friend’s house. The girls were getting ready there after their visit to the salon while the boys were getting ready elsewhere. Cara kept having “moments” where she was brought to tears which was so cute. The ceremony was to be held at Good Shepherd Parish. From there, we stopped at Messiah College for pics with the bridal party. (Where, by the way, I got stung by a bee ON my shooting hand. Thank you to the groomsmen for taking care of me. :) Then it was off to a secret location that Nick and I had both known about and were dying to shoot at. It did not disappoint, snakeskins and all. ;) Then it was off to Ski Roundtop for their reception. We had such a fun time with Cara, Nick and their bridal party. They really did make our job easy.

Diana and Todd – 09.18.09

We are in the heart of busy season!!! While I would love to be getting these blog posts up faster, it’s been slow-going and I apologize for that. So coming at you is the first of three weddings to blog.

On Friday, we traveled to Lancaster to capture the wedding of Diana and Todd. Diana had chosen a lovely jewel-tones theme for the wedding and I LOVED the way Riverdale Manor looked with all of the color. It was a nice hint of Fall too! We spent some time with the guys and girls before the ceremony then boarded the trolly to head to the church. After the ceremony and some refreshments at the church, we all headed back to Riverdale for more portraits and the reception.

Learnfest!!!

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to attend Learnfest, a 3 day seminar for portrait photographers who are ready to take their business to the next creative and strategic level. Our hosts were the gracious Lena Hyde, Tamara Lackey, Laura Novak, and Audrey Woulard. I came back BEYOND inspired and am excited at the direction we are headed. More on that later. For now, enjoy some images from our “shooting clinics”.
