Wyatt – Newborn Session

Oh my!! Little fingers. Little toes. Little everything. I love newborns. Wyatt, his mommy and brother came for his newborn session the week. And what a joy he was. After getting his belly full, he was the most cooperative baby. And he even closed his eyes for a bit! (My newborns seem to NEVER do this for me during our sessions.)

Jessica and Brian – Esession

I met up with Jessica and Brian recently to do their engagement session in downtown Harrisburg. This was the first time that I had met Brian and I have to say that he and Jessica are the cutest couple. They were so good at interacting in front of the camera that I hardly had to give them any instruction. Plus I learned a lot about Conshohocken, which is where they live.

Thanks guys for spending the morning with me.

Rebecca and Jason – 08.22.09

Saturday was an AMAZING day!! Not only did we get to spend it with two AMAZING people but there was no rain during the ceremony, portraits at two AWESOME locations, a rainbow and an ice cream truck!! I’m telling you, we were happy campers.

But first things first. We started our coverage at the Milestone Inn where everyone was getting ready. It was going to be a game time decision on whether to have the ceremony outside or under the tent and it was all dependent on the rain. I’m happy to say that other than a few drops during the ceremony, we didn’t have any rain until after the reception was well underway. And that’s where the rainbow comes in. It appeared after dinner and almost everyone stepped out from under the tent to have a look.

And did I mention the portrait locations? Rebecca, a girl after my own heart, didn’t really want to go to the same old places in Harrisburg. So, she hatched a plan to gain access to the Harrisburg Train Station. One of our back-up plans was venturing underneath one of the bridges into Harrisburg. I’m happy to report that we did both!

On to the favorites….But first PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS SLIDESHOW. Rebecca and Jason actually recorded the song which was also their first dance. So cool!!!

A Quick Doggie Session

Last week, I met up with Diana, Todd and their 3 pooches for a quick session. Diana and Todd are getting married in a few short weeks and wanted some images with their dogs to use for the wedding. The doggies got pretty hot by the end of the session. I’m sure they were glad to come home.

Erin and Karl – 08.15.09

This past Saturday took us back to Allenberry Playhouse for the wedding of Erin and Karl. Everything was happening there so we covered pretty much the entire property throughout the day. And what a hot one it was!! We spent some time with the guys and girls separately for getting ready then it was time for the creekside ceremony. And what a beautiful ceremony it was. It may have been one of my favorites ever! (One of Erin’s bridesmaid’s read the most amazing poem that I’ve included at the bottom of this post.) After some quick family portraits, we walked around Allenberry with Erin and Karl. We visited some favorite places and also discovered some new spots. Then it was inside for the COOL reception.

It was hard to choose favorites but here they are below. And as always, CLICK HERE for the slideshow.

As promised, here’s the poem:

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon…
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Renee and Adam – 08.08.09

Last year, all the media hype that surrounded 08.08.08 made it a very popular wedding date. Renee and Adam decided to set a cooler trend and wait a year for 08.08.09. Which I have to say is equally enjoyable to type. :) We had the chance to capture the day for them this past Saturday. Below are our favorites and CLICK HERE for the slideshow.
