Ryan – Commercial Portraits

We get asked all the time 1. if we do anything IN the studio and 2. if we do commercial portraits. The answer to both is YES! Here’s a recent example. Ryan came in recently for a series of portraits for his future websites.

My latest session with my favorite family

It’s been TOO long since I’ve had the privilege of doing a session for Kade and Emily’s family. I couldn’t believe how big he had gotten when I arrived. And little Miss Emily…oh my. She is SUCH a cutie. Mom and Dad had requested that we do the session at their home for a couple of reasons. One of which is that they have this creek that runs behind their house. But I’ll get there. First things first. We did the family portraits first, then switched outfits for the kids. After we had done all of that, we let the kids get in the creek. Apparently this was the first time they had been allowed in there so it was such a joy for me to capture it. Of course, I got in too and let me tell you. It was COLD! But they had such a blast throwing rocks and looking for “fishies”.

I’m warning you now. I had a VERY hard time choosing images for the blog so there are A LOT!!

I LOVE dirty toesies. No portrait session should be complete without letting the kids get dirty.

You’ll notice a lot of vintage looking shots. I did this because that’s the feeling I was getting from the images. That’s also the feeling I get from this family.

Emily was not happy with the shock of the cold water. But she got used to it pretty quickly.

Nicole and James – 06.13.09

This past Saturday, we captured the wedding of Nicole and James. And what a wedding it was with 300 guests in attendance! Allison and I met up with Nicole at her parent’s home while Lindsey went to meet up with James and the boys. Nicole’s dress, a Rina di Montella, was absolutely gorgeous. It was very hard for me to narrow down the images we captured of Nicole because there were so many good ones. After everyone was ready and the limo “short bus” ;) arrived, it was off to St. Catherine’s for the ceremony. James got a little emotional when Nicole and her dad walked down the aisle, but so did a lot of other people! After quick family portraits at the church, it was off to the Capitol for pictures with the bridal party. We went in front of, behind and inside the Capitol doing all sorts of portraits. When we wrapped up, it was just a short ride to the Harrisburg Hilton where cocktail hour was underway. There were so many awesome details, from the caricature of the bride and groom to the race car ice sculpture. Once the doors opened to the Harrisburg Ballroom and guests were seated, the party got under way. In fact, it was still going strong when we left!

Kari and Brad – 06.07.09

The day had finally arrived!!! Sunday was Kari and Brad’s wedding at Riverdale Manor and we couldn’t be more excited to spend the day with them. Not only were we spending the day at a fantastic venue but we were spending the day with two fantastic people! Lindsey and I arrived for getting ready shots with both the guys and girls and then prepared for Kari and Brad’s first glance of each other on the farmhouse porch. We did all of the family portraits before the ceremony (which we LOVE by the way) then moved inside to cool off before the ceremony was to begin. The ceremony was beautiful, occurring creekside with Brad’s brother-in-law officiating. After the ceremony, we got some alone time with Kari and Brad as we walked around the grounds. Then it was time for cocktail hour and the reception. The room at Riverdale looked amazing thanks to all of Kari’s hard work and special touches.

Michelle and Chris – 06.06.09

Last Saturday, Andy and I were at the Milestone Inn for the wedding of Chris and Michelle (Yep. We were two for two with brides named Michelle on Saturday.) Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it was also D-Day and was stuck in horrible traffic due to some special events being held. I have to send a HUGE thanks to Cyndi for covering Michelle’s getting ready until I arrived!! When I did get there, I was stunned by Michelle’s dress. It was absolutely beautiful and she had the BEST shoes too! Once everyone was ready, we headed out to the river where Chris and Michelle saw each other before the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and had little touches that made it so special for Michelle and Chris. After cocktail hour on the lawn, it was time for the reception. I have to say I love their taste in music! Just as every one of the guests did, Andy and I had a great time! Thank you Chris and Michelle!!

Michelle and Matt – 06.06.09

The theme for this past Saturday for Klose Photography was two-fold: Michelle and TRAFFIC. (Traffic issue #1 was me having to report to our second wedding to cover for Lindsey who was stuck in traffic.) Saturday was the PERFECT day for a June wedding in Central PA. Allison, Maureen and I had the privilege of spending it with Michelle and Matt. We started our day with the girls at Michelle’s parent’s home and with the boys at the Camp Hill UMC. (Traffic issue #2 – Allison got stuck in traffic on the way!) Despite some initial concerns that guests would be late arriving because of traffic issue #3 (a bad accident on 322), the ceremony went off without a hitch. Then it was off to Italian Lake for portraits with Michelle and Matt and their bridal party. After we finished up at the Lake, it was off to the Harrisburg Hilton for the reception. The dance floor was filled with great dancers all night!
