Kristen and RJ – Esession

On Sunday afternoon (the very HOT Sunday afternoon), Lindsey and I met up with Kristen and RJ at Longwood Gardens for their engagement session. They had never been there so we had a great time walking around showing them the sights. We managed to dodge most of the people and stayed relatively cool and got some great stuff.

T-Softball 2009

It’s not often that I get the chance to shoot for myself. And when I do it’s usually something creative or artistic. But tonight I did something different. I took my camera to my daughters t-softball game and got some “action” shots. Well, that was in between laughing and cheering. They just have so much fun. Here are a few from tonight:

Only in softball do you have a bat that says “Girl Power”. ;)

Lisa and Jason – 04.18.09

Last Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding in Central PA. Especially an outdoor one. ;) Lindsey, Maureen and I traveled to the Links of Gettysburg to capture the ceremony and reception for Lisa and Jason. (You may remember them from their recent engagement session.) To say we had a good time was putting it mildly. From the blue skies to the golf carts to the packed dance floor, this party was a great one! We started off hanging with both the guys and the girls for some getting ready shots. I’m happy to report that I survived an attack by a rampaging paper towel dispenser. ;) The ceremony was held on the terrace overlooking the golf course which is just beautiful. Since Lisa and Jason had decided to see each other prior to the ceremony, we moved through the day quite quickly and before we knew it, it was PARTY time. The reception even had a hot fudge sundae bar which was awesome!

As usual, below are a few favorites. The rest are HERE in the slideshow.

This is probably one of my favorite dress shots ever. The backlighting from the blinds was awesome.

Garden Update #2 – in honor of Earth Day

A lot of you have been emailing about the progress of our garden. I’ve also been hounded by my husband to give you all an update too. :) So since we last blogged about it, we’ve made a lot of progress. Many different cold weather loving plants have gone into the ground. Some are doing OK and some aren’t. But it’s all a learning process, right? The biggest project has been the installation of the 6 foot tall split-rail fence. Actually that’s the first stage of the fence project. We are now working on the putting a secondary metal fence on the split rail to keep all of the critters out. (We have deer, foxes, groundhogs, rabbits and whatever else comes out of the woods.) We’re hoping to have the fence and gate completed this weekend. We’ve also installed a rain barrel and built a compost bin out of old wood that we had in the garage.

I took some pics recently to show you all our progress.

An overall look of the garden and shed.

A FUN Family!

On Saturday, I visited with my friend Brandi and her family for a quick session. They wanted to have some prints made for Mother’s Day coming up. We had made plans to meet at the Sunken Gardens in Harrisburg but the rain put a damper on that. So we came up with the alternate planning of doing the session inside at a family member’s house. As luck would have it, by the time our session rolled around, the sun was out and shining so we did some shots inside and out. All of the kids were hyped up (pre-Easter excitement?) but I really did have any awesome time with all their chaos. Here are just a few favorites:

The twins wanted to do a wrestling stance pose.

Karen and Brian – Esession

One sunny day last week, I met Karen and Brian for their engagement session. This was the first time that I had actually met them in person. Karen and I had only spoke over the phone once but we’ve communicated a lot using email since she’s planning her wedding from Florida. They asked for suggestions for a location and I recommended that we meet at Fort Hunter and walk around. It was a little cold and Karen was in flip-flops :) so we moved quickly. But I had a great time getting to know these two and am really looking forward to their upcoming wedding.

This first one is hilarious. It was actually just a test shot for lighting and such when this cat hopped up on the picnic table and Brian freaked! It was too funny. Notice Karen holding him. ;)
