2009 Bal Masque

On Saturday, Lindsey and I partied. Well. Kind of. We were asked by our friend Bridgit Wiest of EPN to photograph the activities at Bal Masque, sponsored by the Art Association of Harrisburg. It’s actually their biggest fundraiser of the year. The party was being held at the Appalachian Brewing Company and, as always, had a Mardi Gras theme. There drinks, king cakes, costumes, and of course BEADS.

And I couldn’t resist posting this image of the lovely Lindsey “masking” it up!!

A Surprise Engagement!

We just LOVE doing these. Last week, I was asked by my friend Tina to photograph a surprise engagement. Tina works at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center on the campus of Penn State York. They were hosting the Broadway show “The Drowsy Chaperone” and held a contest for someone to propose on-stage. The lucky couple were Dylan and Carisa. She said YES!!!

One of my personal goals for 2009 is to shoot more for myself. On a recent VERY COLD Saturday, I challenged myself to spend 5 minutes outside shooting whatever came across my path. My hands were freezing but I’m happy with what I got.

My Favorite Family (besides my own)

When Shalee (my awesome babysitter friend) recently asked me to take some images of her and her brothers as a surprise for their parent’s anniversary, I of course said yes. I love this family and would do anything for them. So on a cold, ICY day, we all met up at Fort Hunter for their quick session. Here are just two of my favs:

Thanks guys. Anytime. ;)

We’re building a garden!!

We have been wanting to do a HUGE garden for years but for one reason or another it just hasn’t happened. We’ve potted tomatoes and herbs in containers for the last couple of years and the girls have gotten so much enjoyment out of taking care of them that we decided that 2009 was the year for THE GARDEN. So last weekend, we checked our diagram, made our list, and headed to the HD (as my husband calls it) for all the needed supplies to build our raised bed garden. Below are the pictures from the start of this process. I’ll be blogging this as we go so you can follow the adventures of the Klose Garden. ;)

So we’ll be keeping you updated on our progress as we continue the prep work as well as when growing season starts. Feel free to leave a comment if you have your own garden and would like to share some advice for the “newbies”. ;)

Thank Yous

It’s about time to post some of the wonderful Thank You cards that we received over the last couple of months. We LOVE getting cards!
