Alison and Dave – Esession

Last Sunday (was it? I’ve lost track of time!), I met up with Alison and Dave at their apartment in Lancaster for their much anticipated engagement session. We had plans to walk around Lancaster and visit some spots that they like to hang out at. But before we got in to walking around the city, we hopped in the car and traveled to the spot where they got engaged. It’s called the Pinnacle and it overlooks the Susquehanna River. I have to stop here and say that I have a tremendous fear of heights. But I overcame all that and stepped out on to the edge of the world for Alison and Dave! After scaling the cliff, we headed back to more solid ground and into Lancaster City. I had such a great time hanging out with these two that our session was 3 hours!!

Here are some of my favorites:

I love this one.

Michelle and James – 09.20.08

Last Saturday, I made my first trip to the Inn at Leola Village for the ceremony and dinner of Michelle and James. The Inn was beautiful as we walked around visiting first Michelle and the girls and then James and the boys. The ceremony was held at the Casa di Fiori and the dinner was held in the Restaurant Mazzi. Both were amazing! Below are just some of the images from the day.

Katie and Anthony – 09.19.08

On Friday, Lindsey and I headed to one of our favorite places, Riverdale Manor, for the ceremony and reception of Katie and Anthony. It was a gorgeous evening for a creekside ceremony, with the late afternoon sun streaming through the trees. And the Manor looked fabulous inside. Katie and Anthony’s families were so much fun to be with the whole evening. And the kids in this wedding were so cute!!!

Melissa and Brian – 09.13.08

Last Saturday was a double header for Klose Photography. Lindsey will be along soon with the blog post of her wedding. I had the privilege of capturing the day for Melissa and Brian with the help of my friend Erik Matey. We split the first part of the day with Erik hanging out with the guys while I stayed with the girls. And what a group of girls they are!! :) (It was good seeing Jessica and Kellan again. Jess was one of Melissa’s bridesmaids.) Anyhow, after all of the fun we had getting ready, it was time for the short trolley ride down to State Street for the ceremony at the amazing St. Lawrence Cathedral. Melissa and Brian’s clergy from their home churches conducted the ceremony and it was beautiful. After the ceremony, we formulated a plan for our portrait time. We were hoping that the showers that were threatening all day held off until after pictures. Lucky for us they did! We started with the bridal party along Riverfront then spent some time with just Melissa and Brian before boarding the trolley. Back to the Milestone we went for the Cocktail Hour/Penn State Viewing Party. :) Melissa and her Mom put so much thought into every little detail and it totally showed: from the flowers, to the candy bar, to the table names. My favorite detail were the sunflowers!!! DJ Mark Hoover kept the dance floor packed (and me laughing :) ) all night. The night ended with SPARKLERS surrounding Melissa and Brian and what a way to end the night.

Thank you Melissa and Brian for such an awesome day. I hope you enjoyed your after-party at Molly Brannigans!!

Lauren and Cliff – 09.12.08

Well it FINALLY happened. We had a great streak going at Klose Photography. It had never rained on a planned outdoor ceremony. We have had rain before but it has always been with an indoor ceremony or after the outdoor ceremony was already over. Unfortunately for Lauren and Cliff, Friday was the first time this has happened to us. And in such a big way. These two had planned for a Hershey Gardens ceremony, surrounded by roses. But Mother Nature had other plans and we all went along!!

Before I get to that, I met Lauren and Cliff on Thursday for their engagement session when they got back in to town for the wedding. I knew we were going to have a good wedding day after seeing how comfortable these two were with each other and the camera.

Allison and I started our day Friday at the Hotel Hershey where both the guys and the girls were getting ready. Lauren was amazingly calm when we arrived. She even put the phone chain in effect to inform all her guest of the change in ceremony location. I’ll get to that in a moment. Lauren and Cliff had decided to see each other prior to the ceremony and we carried through with that plan. We used the amazing Fountain Lobby at the Hotel Hershey for the meeting and it was awesome. After their first glimpse, we decided to brave the rain and head outside to the formal gardens at the Hotel for all the formal shots. Then it was off to the Hershey Antique Auto Museum where their reception was to be held and now also their ceremony.

The ceremony was held in the rotunda and was complete with a hand fasting ceremony. After the ceremony it was time for cocktail hour amongst the antique cars and then finally the reception downstairs in the “bus depot”. I was excited to see that the replica diner that the museum has was FINALLY open for us to use. (I’ve been to the museum several times before and the diner has never been open!) Lauren and Cliff had a choreographed first dance and it was awesome. Dinner was AMAZING and that fueled everyone for a night of dancing.

Below are a few of my favs. Click HERE to view their show!!!

Thanks guys for having us. We hope you had a wonderful after party!!
