Julie and Nick - 06.28.08

Well the rain held off for most of the day. Actually Saturday turned out to be a fairly decent day. Except for the half hour that it POURED while the girls (and Lindsey and I) were arriving at the church. But I’ll get to that in a minute. Lindsey, Allison and I had the pleasure of capturing Julie and Nick’s wedding this past Saturday. Lindsey and I started with the girls at the Julie’s parent’s house while Allison headed to the church, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Harrisburg. With an eye to the sky and the radar, the girls got ready and then off we went to the church, under VERY threatening skies. By the time we got to the church, there was literally a river running down 3rd Street. Although the girls and some of the guests were a little damp from getting into the church, the ceremony went off without a hitch. After a few portraits at the church, we all headed to the lovely Peter Allen House where we did some more portraits before the reception really got started. The food was fantastic and the guests really seemed to enjoy roaming the house and grounds of the Peter Allen House. I have to mention the special dances from Saturday. I was close enough to hear the conversations between Julie and her dad as well as Nick and his grandmother and I can say that I got a little weepy at both of them. And after a long, hot day working, Lindsey and I stopped at 3B Ice Cream on the way home as a treat to ourselves!!

Now on to the pictures… (and there are lots so bear with me)

I love it when the bride gets ready in her childhood room.

Julie had a whole bulletin board of soccer patches. What a cool spot for the rings.

I love this capture by Lindsey of Julie’s mom.

A couple of great captures at the ceremony.

My favorite of the day.

A couple of quick portraits….

…and then off to Peter Allen House

A few details from the reception…

Yummm….cupcakes….

…and Sangria with blueberries!!

Apparently the Spice Girls made an appearance… ;)

Julie and Nick’s last dance to Rusted Root.

Jena and Troy - 06.21.08

As Andy said, Klose Photography took over Hummelstown on Saturday. Lindsey and I had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Jena and Troy. I started with the girls at Jena’s parents house while Lindsey hung out with the guys at Jena and Troy’s house. We all met up at Grace UMC in Hummelstown for the ceremony. Then everyone packed into the Hummer limo and off we went to Founder’s Hall for pictures with the bridal party. After we were done trapsing around, it was back in the cars and off to the Susquehanna Club in New Cumberland for the reception. DJ Mark Hoover had the crowd hopping.

I saw this on Jena’s parent’s fridge when I arrived.

The dress and shoes.

I LOVE this shot of Jena’s sister helping her put her necklace on. LOVE IT!

Jena was a beautiful, natural-looking bride.

The girls.

Look at those eyes.

Troy getting ready.

The boys.

I LOVE this capture by Lindsey, moments before the ceremony started.

The ever-so-helpful Melissa from EPN telling the kids what to do before they go down the aisle.

The bubbles!!

Some portraits of the couple.

The rings.

The cake.

My favorite of the day.

Troy and his mom.

Thanks Jena and Troy for having us. You are a fantastic couple and we wish you years of happiness.

Lara and Shawn - 06.21.08

Last Saturday Klose Photography was in 2 churches in Hummelstown at almost the same time. First up, Anne and I (Andy, I know this is a first!) had the privilege of capturing Lara and Shawns’ wonderful day. Anne started the day at Lara’s parents’ house with the girls, while I met up with the guys for some quick portraits and fun images. The ceremony was held at Trinity UMC. Everyone then packed the limo for the quick ride to the reception at the Hershey Country Club. Fred Behney from SoundWave DJ’s kept the dance floor full and the party rolling along. We even encountered a few worried moments as we had a scavenger hunt for a wallet;) It all worked out and it was a great day.

OK, on to the pics.

Love Lara’s expression

Shawn’s gift to the guys were these personalized putters.

We had to be a little creative with our portraits due to another event, but we found a nice spot.

Lara is a teacher so we thought this ring shot was appropriate;)

A different take on the first dance.

Congratulations guys, Anne and I had a great time.

Michelle and Matt - E-session

Sunday was also the day for Matt and Michelle’s engagement session at Fort Hunter. I swear these two don’t take a bad picture!!

I’m in LOVE with this image!! One of my favorite e-session pics of all time.

Thanks guys for spending Sunday morning with us. And a special thanks to my assistant for this session. ;)

Casey and John - E-session

Sunday it was “supposed” to rain. Well thankfully it never did!! Casey and John had chosen Founder’s Hall as the location for their engagement session and we were all worried about the weather. But it ended up being fine…hot actually.

You’ll be seeing more of Casey and John soon. Their wedding is next month.

Allison and Ryan - E-session

A week or so ago, I met up with Allison and Ryan at Messiah College for their engagement session. We had picked another spot but it was too crowded with people enjoying the weather so we ended up at Messiah, and I’m glad we did.

Thanks guys for hanging out with me. And you all might be seeing more of Allison soon…

Coming Soon…

Sorry for the delay in blogging but it’s the heart of wedding season. I promise that in the next few days, you will see:

Some boudoir
3 e-sessions
2 weddings
1 commercial shoot

and maybe even a cool announcement!!!

Stay tuned…

Kristen and Gerald - 06.14.08

Like I said in the previous post, thank goodness it didn’t rain. With 2 outdoor ceremonies for Klose Photography on Saturday, we were praying that the rain would hold off. And even though the radar looked as if it was going to pour any minute, we never did get any rain. Lindsey and I captured Kristen and Gerald’s wedding on Saturday. We started with the respective getting ready shots: I was at the Hilton with Kristen and her girls and Lindsey met up with the boys at the Civic Club. I have never seen a bride and groom give each other more presents that these two! (I’ll explain that in a little bit). Kristen and her dad enjoyed a carriage ride from the Hilton to the Civic Club before the ceremony. After the outdoor ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside (rain free!) while Lindsey and I stole Kristen and Gerald away for some creative portraits. Then everyone made their way inside for a great reception.

I know you really only want to see the pictures, so here we go…

Present #1 - When we arrived at their room at the Hilton, Kristen was greeted by beautiful red roses and a card “To My Gorgeous Wife”. Needless to say, there were some tears shed.

This shot is so funny to me. It’s like a “getting ready train”.

The natural light in the suite was just perfect for some dramatic captures.

Present #2 - This necklace, and it’s partner the bracelet, were a gift from Gerald as well. Apparently, he’s very bad at keeping surprises. So he bought these with the intention of giving them to Kristen on their wedding day but instead gave them to her as soon as he got home from the jewelry store.

The lovely bride x 3.

What a cutie pie!!

Present #3 - Not to be outdone by her husband, Kristen’s present to Gerald was fantastic. She rented him a Porsche for the weekend!!!! I was actually there for it’s surprise delivery on Thursday prior to the wedding. Gerald was beside himself with excitement.

One of my favorites captures from the day.

So this is Gerald walking both mothers down the aisle. He stole a quick glance up to check the rain situation.

This is what was looming.

Some moments from the ceremony.

After the ceremony, it was time for some alone time with the bride and groom.

The Porsche. I have a feeling this is going to be a large print in their home. ;)

Their signature drink was a blue martini, fitting for the Tiffany blue theme that was going on.

The cake, by About Weddings, was one of my favorite all time cakes.

During the reception, we snuck out for another quick portrait session.

The rings.

Present #4 - FIREWORKS!! This was Gerald’s present to Kristen but also a surprise for their guests. They even got to push the button to start them. So cool!

And a fantastic way to end a wonderful day. Thank you K & G for welcoming us and letting us capture your day.

Stephanie and Eric - 06.14.08

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for us, having two weddings in Harrisburg. Team #1, consisting of Anne and Andy, were at the Milestone Inn for the wedding of Stephanie and Eric. Thankfully the rain held off so the ceremony could be held outside as planned!!

Eric got his groomsmen very cool watches as gifts.

Stephanie got ready in her family’s Victorian home which was full of antiques.

Stephanie’s dad passed away. I love this shot of her standing in front of a picture of the two of them when she was little.

To the Milestone for some final getting ready shots before the ceremony.

The groomsmen looking out the window at the guest arriving.

The ceremony complete with a rose petal toss.

Some alone time with Stephanie and Eric.

The Milestone at night.

The cake.

Some reception fun.

Stephanie changed into a party dress for the reception and it was just as awesome as her wedding dress.

One final shot…

Thanks guys for having us. I know you’ve been waiting patiently for these from your sunny tropical paradise!!!

The “S” Family

Last Sunday, after I recuperated from Krissy and Troy’s HOT wedding, I spent some time with the “S” Family. Since it was still hot, we worked quickly through some portraits and then we just let the kids be themselves. And for Mason, that meant being naked with the hose!!!

Here are some images from our time together…
