Kade – 5 months

This week was my monthly visit with Kade and his family and this time we got the rest of the gang in on the session.

I know I’ve mentioned this before but I LOVE EMILY!

Kade was teething so he was a little out of sorts.

Stay tuned for next month to see images of the two new additions to this family.

Julie and Nick – E-session

What a beautiful day for an engagement session!! Especially at Pinchot, which is exactly where Julie and Nick wanted to do their engagement session. They had scouted the location (even though they already know it like the back of their hands) and found some cool little spots that I didn’t even know existed. We had an awesome time doing the session and I learned a lot about these two. Especially Nick and microwaves and grits. ;) And a special thanks to Julie’s Mom Donna for going with us and being my “assistant”.

My favorite from the day.

Amanda and Philip – 05.10.08

On Saturday, with the skies clearing, we headed to the wedding of Amanda and Philip in Chambersburg. I had such a great time getting to know these two during their engagement session last fall that I was excited for their day. And with just coming off my conference, I was seeing things so differently all day long! But I’m getting ahead of myself. We started at Amanda’s parent’s house who were very gracious to open up their house and feed us all lunch! The girls got ready there then it was off to the church for Amanda to get ready. After the ceremony, we headed outside for some pictures and then it was off to the reception at the old Fort Richie in Maryland, where the party really got started. The reception hall overlooked the lake and it was so awesome at sunset. And I was beyond happy when Philip told me that we could get pictures whenever and wherever we wanted to. Besides a little snafu with the cake (hee hee), everything went off as planned.

Now for the pictures…

This is what greeted us at Amanda’s parent’s house.

Amanda’s dress was amazing.

Aria is Philip’s niece and he requested lots of pictures of her.

The rings. Gotta love the pink rock candy favors.

Reception fun.

Just for me.

I didn’t have a lot of time at MARS to shoot for myself but when I did, I got some great stuff.

I ran into a woman, Barb, when we were out walking around one day. Her hands were amazing so I asked her if I could photograph them.

I loved this “Bed and Breakfast” sign.

The beach at sunset.

My friend Katie during our sunset shoot.

I’ll share some more images next week.

I went to MARS!!

So last week, I literally went to MARS. OK. MARS in this case is actually the Mid-Atlantic Regional School for Professional Photography held in beautiful Cape May, one of my favorite places on earth. I chose to attend the weeklong conference for 2 reasons: 1. It was in Cape May :) and 2. I wanted to immerse myself in shooting just for me for one entire week and not worry about the business of the business. My week was to be spent in the class room of Carl Caylor who would be teaching us about using natural light to it’s greatest potential. It was an intense and amazing week and it felt SO GOOD to not touch my flash for 7 days! One of the coolest thing about the school is that they provided us with models and we literally had the opportunity to shoot every day. Below are some of the images that I created during the week with the models.

I also wanted to say what an amazing group were in my class. There were only about 16 of us and we became so close in such a short amount of time. And I special shout out to Kim, Katie, Carrie, Gina and Andrea who made the week so much fun!

Lauren and Shaun – 05.03.08

So after spending a fantastic rehearsal night with these guys, I was excited when Saturday came. Lauren and Shaun were getting married!! We started at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren where the girls were getting ready. The ceremony went off without a hitch and we flew through portrait time so we could get to a special location that we stopped at on the way to the reception at the Holiday Inn East. Lauren had all of these great black and white details including the most unusual placecards I have ever seen. And I have to say a special thank you to Lauren’s brother, Justin, for challenging me to a shoot out during the day. :)

Now for the images…

Shaun requested a shot with golf clubs. I love this one!!
