Jessica and Kellan - 05.25.08

The day finally arrived!! The long awaited, much anticipated wedding of Jessica and Kellan. The weather even cooperated! Lindsey and I were so excited to capture the day for them. We arrived at the Hershey Gardens to do some final getting ready shots of the girls and to finally see Jess’ dress in person. It was simply amazing. And seeing Jess in the dress was breathtaking. Jess and Kellan had decided to see each other before the ceremony and get as many pictures done as possible. So Lindsey and I orchestrated their first glance of each other and it was such a great moment. After portraits with the two of them, bridal party and family, they headed back inside to refresh and recharge before the ceremony. The ceremony was held in a section of the gardens called the Oak Grove which is a shady spot under a grove of oak trees. The girls walked towards the grove through a series of rose arbors. (The roses weren’t blooming yet. They were about 2 weeks behind thanks to all the rain.) The ceremony went off without a hitch and was everything that you would want a garden wedding to be. After a greeting their guests, the newlyweds and their bridal party hopped on the trolley and headed to the Hershey Lodge for the reception. The Chocolate Ballroom had never looked better! The flowers by Blooms by Vickrey had been amazing all day and the centerpieces at the lodge certainly did not disappoint. I could smell the cake, by Dingeldein Bakery, half way across the room. It had this awesome wavy chocolate frosting and it tasted just as good as it smelled! The dancing part of the reception, led by the Imact Band, was memorable to say the least. My last memory of Jess and Kellan’s wedding was a group of Jess’ guys singing “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” a la Top Gun. It was fantastic.

But I know all you really want to see are the images. So here they are…;)

The dress, from Diva Rees, was a work of art.

Kellan’s wedding gift to Jess…this amazing ring!! Good job Kellan!!

Jessica’s bouquet was stunning.

It was great to work with Gia again. She always does an amazing job with makeup.

A series of pictures of Jess…

Her birdcage veil was one of a kind. It totally tied the whole look together.

I’m always honored when I get to capture an orchestrated first glance for the bride and groom before the wedding. We ditched our initial plan because the lighting was too harsh but found the perfect spot.

The beautiful couple.

The bridal party.

Some ceremony images…

The girls all wore different dresses, in shades of pink and orange, and carried bouquets of white peonies.

The Chocolate Ballroom.

The cake.

A different view of the cake.

This one is just for Jess. ;)

One of my favorites from the day.

Jess’ mom, Lisa, celebrated her 50th birthday on Sunday as well.

Hands down, this is by far one of my favorite reception moments of all time. They were so good!! I felt like I was in the movie Top Gun. “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling…..”

We had such a fantastic time at this wedding. I can’t thank the families enough for being so gracious and welcoming. Congratulations Jess and Kellan. Wishing you many years of happiness.

Becky and Adam - 05.24.08

Saturday was GORGEOUS!!! And we were so excited to have an outdoor wedding. Becky and Adam got married at the beautiful Masonic Gardens in Elizabethtown.

Becky was a beautiful (although a little nervous) bride.

Adam was a little emotional during the vows.

The sky was just awesome on Saturday.

Hey, look who made an appearance at the reception. Hayden!

Adam was singing to Becky.

Thanks guys for having us. Andy and I had a great time. We hope you are enjoying Jamaica.

Jessica and Kellan - Rehearsal

When I saw the weather forecast for last weekend, I have to admit I did a little happy dance. It was slated to be a very busy weekend for Klose Photography, with rehearsal dinner coverage on the Pride of the Susquehanna on Friday and two garden weddings on Saturday and Sunday.

So on Friday, I met up with Jessica, Kellan and their family and friends at Hershey Gardens for their rehearsal. Traffic was a mess that night and some of the important members were a little late in getting to the rehearsal. But once they showed up, it was smooth sailing from there on out. After the rehearsal, we all headed to the Pride of the Susquehanna for the rehearsal dinner. Every had a great time and the cruise ended with the most AMAZING sunset. See for yourself.

Flower girl Olivia enjoyed some downtime before the rehearsal began.

We also found some frogs by a little pond.

My friend, Helena, and her hubby.

Jess’ shoes were awesome. Apparently she got the deal of the century at DSW. And her dress was this incredible vintage one that I just loved.

Great conversation on the Pride.

The kids had fun too.

I grabbed Jessica and Kellan for some sunset shots.

I didn’t think it was possible, but the sunset just kept getting better. This is right out of my camera with no tweaking. The colors were just incredible.

Heather and Cory - E-session

So last Thursday I traveled to Millersville University to meet up with Heather and Cory for their engagement session. Heather was nervous at the beginning but they ended up having a great time. I’m looking forward to their wedding in October.

Oh and Dwight from the Office made a special appearance during the session. Those images are just for Heather and Cory!

And here’s Dwight…

I couldn’t decide which of these I like better so you get both.

Next up are the great images from this past weekend’s events. Stay tuned.

And because no post is complete without an image…

Tamara and Robert - 05.17.08

There’s isn’t a better way to spend Armed Forces Day than with two marines on their wedding day. Tamara and Robert chose Armed Forces Day for their wedding because the military has been so important in their lives as well as their friends and family. Lindsey and I were honored to be part of such a special occasion. We started at Tamara’s lakeside childhood home for getting ready shots with the girls. I love it when brides get ready in their childhood bedroom. It’s just too cute. After pictures by the lake, we headed to the church for the ceremony then back to the lake for some bridal party shots. Despite the few rain drops, we captured some great images, including a creek shot with Tamara and Robert where Tamara VOLUNTEERED to stand on a rock in the middle of! I love it! She said, I’ll go. I’m only going to where this dress once. :) After we wrapped up at the lake, we headed to the reception at the Lantern Lodge.

Enough talking. Here’s the good stuff…

The girls had great purses for their bouquets.

Tamara requested this shot. With those eyes, I was NOT going to argue! :)

A great capture from Lindsey.

Another.

I love it when we have no rules in a church. We never over step our bounds but it does allow us to sneak a lot closer and get shots like this. I love the light in this one.

A nice simple portrait.

Another capture by Lindsey. ( Maybe she should be sick more often. ;) )

I wanted to take this little girl home with me. She was SO CUTE.

The last dance.

Thanks Tamara and Robert for having us. Enjoy your cruise. I’m very jealous!

Kade - 5 months

This week was my monthly visit with Kade and his family and this time we got the rest of the gang in on the session.

I know I’ve mentioned this before but I LOVE EMILY!

Kade was teething so he was a little out of sorts.

Stay tuned for next month to see images of the two new additions to this family.

Julie and Nick - E-session

What a beautiful day for an engagement session!! Especially at Pinchot, which is exactly where Julie and Nick wanted to do their engagement session. They had scouted the location (even though they already know it like the back of their hands) and found some cool little spots that I didn’t even know existed. We had an awesome time doing the session and I learned a lot about these two. Especially Nick and microwaves and grits. ;) And a special thanks to Julie’s Mom Donna for going with us and being my “assistant”.

My favorite from the day.

Amanda and Philip - 05.10.08

On Saturday, with the skies clearing, we headed to the wedding of Amanda and Philip in Chambersburg. I had such a great time getting to know these two during their engagement session last fall that I was excited for their day. And with just coming off my conference, I was seeing things so differently all day long! But I’m getting ahead of myself. We started at Amanda’s parent’s house who were very gracious to open up their house and feed us all lunch! The girls got ready there then it was off to the church for Amanda to get ready. After the ceremony, we headed outside for some pictures and then it was off to the reception at the old Fort Richie in Maryland, where the party really got started. The reception hall overlooked the lake and it was so awesome at sunset. And I was beyond happy when Philip told me that we could get pictures whenever and wherever we wanted to. Besides a little snafu with the cake (hee hee), everything went off as planned.

Now for the pictures…

This is what greeted us at Amanda’s parent’s house.

Amanda’s dress was amazing.

Aria is Philip’s niece and he requested lots of pictures of her.

The rings. Gotta love the pink rock candy favors.

Reception fun.
