Jackie and Kyle - 04.26.08

I am so excited to blog this wedding!!! I have so much to share with you from our day. So let’s get started. Saturday was the AWESOME wedding of Jackie and Kyle at Allenberry. Allenberry is Jackie’s family’s business so the entire day was bathed in history and thankfully, sunshine. Jackie ended up getting ready in the mansion which was her Grandmother’s house. Her dress had this amazing vintage feel to it and fit her and the location so well. So after getting ready, Jackie and Kyle wanted all of their pictures done before the ceremony so they could enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. The ceremony was held in the Boxwood Gardens and was so touching and intimate that I got weepy. They were surrounded by her friends and family the entire day. I can’t begin to explain how touching it was to see SO MANY people embrace this couple and be so excited to share their day with them. The cocktail hour was spent mingling on the porch of the mansion enjoying the fantastic weather. At 6pm (and right before the rain hit), we all moved to the Carriage Room for the reception. The reception was amazing in itself, with fantastic food family style in 3 courses and speeches throughout by family and friends. DJ Bob Foltz got the crowd going when all the speeches were over.

Alright, I can’t contain the excitement anymore. On to the FANTASTIC images from the day…

There were flowers throughout the mansion. My favorites were the peonies.

Jackie’s dress was a Nicole Miller that she got in NYC.

Jackie’s friend did her makeup and did a FANTASTIC job.

I love the intense look on her face.

Stunning…

This is one of my favorite images of all time.

Jackie in her grandmother’s parlor, a traditional spot for family bridal portraits.

One of Jackie’s favorite spots is the porch of the mansion.

Kyle was showing his political affiliation. :)

The awesome couple.

Something different.

Jackie finished getting ready in her grandmother’s bedroom that looked out onto the ceremony site. I caught her peaking out the window looking at the guests.

There were so many great moments during the ceremony. I love this one of Kyle looking at Jackie.

Cocktail hour.

Father daughter dance.

A great shot of the reception room.

An image from one of the toasts.

The first dance.

I still can’t get over how welcome I felt by everyone on Saturday. I am so honored to have been chosen to capture this day for Jackie and Kyle.

A special thanks to Andy and Allison for shooting with my on Saturday.

Drew and AJ

So late last week, Krista brought her 2 boys for a mini-session, since they haven’t had any pictures done in awhile. We had such a great time getting these shots.

First, some great B&W portraits. If I could do one of these during every session, I would be a happy camper.

Drew

Then outside for some fun in the grass.

I’m not sure what AJ is selling, but I’ll buy it!!

The last shot of our session. I think Drew’s face in this one is priceless.

Introducing…Krista

I wanted to introduce you all to Krista, our new Office Manager. Krista and I have known each other for years. We actually worked together for several years before having kids and moving on. We both remember the conversations we had while working full time how we wanted to start our own business together. Fast forward several years, and here we are! Krista will be managing our day-to-day operations and helping the back office of Klose Photography run a little more smoothly.

And here’s a great shot of our new addition…

Prayer Request

I just found out today that our new associate Lindsey unexpectedly lost her mother yesterday. She was only 48 years old. Please pray for safe travel for Lindsey and her family as they go back to Colorado for the funeral.

Wild Violet

A taste of spring for our new blog.

Beach Sessions

If you were thinking about doing any kind of portrait session at the beach this year, I have the week for you. I will be in Cape May, NJ the week of May 5th and would love to do some sessions while I’m there. Here is why this is a good thing:

1. Beat the heat. May is a great time in Cape May.
2. Beat the crowds.
3. Beat the price. We’ll increase the print credit of a normal session by $50.

Contact the studio to for more information or to schedule a session.

Thanks!
Cyndi

Announcing…Lindsey

I am so pleased to officially announce Lindsey as our newest Associate Photographer with Klose Photography. Lindsey has been with us for awhile now but she’s ready to take an even bigger role at KP. She’ll be working with me at the Milestone on a lot of the back-end/processing tasks. But the most exciting part is that she’ll also be shooting weddings for KP. She will be the primary photographer of our second team.

I asked Lindsey to write a little something for this introduction

“I’m thrilled to become a member of the Klose Photography team. I knew from the first moment I saw Cyndi’s images that we had the same vision. I was born and raised in Colorado where I attended the Art Institute of Colorado and focused my photography portfolio on editorial portraiture. I absolutely believe that every picture has a story to tell and bringing those stories to life is definitely an art form. After graduating from the Art Institute I moved to Pennsylvania and within these past four years I married my best friend and now have a beautiful little boy. Starting my own family has inspired me to learn and tell the stories of other families. What better place to start then by telling the story of a new family at it’s beginning, the wedding.”

Lindsey is currently booking weddings for the remainder of 2008 as well as 2009. Contact the studio if you are interested in more information. And feel free to leave a comment to welcome Lindsey.

Eliza and Madeleine

Last week, I visited Eliza and Madeleine for a portrait session at their home in Lebanon. I love taking pictures of sisters!! Madeleine is the big sister at 2 and Eliza is 4 months old and so cute. We did a couple of outfit changes as well as a break for a snack. ;) I think we had a great session.

We started with these cute red and white outfits.

Love this one.

Then we switched to these pretty matching pink and white dresses.

Then Eliza changed into her Christening gown and Mom put her down in the family cradle.

I had a great time visiting with the girls. I hope to see them again soon.

PLAY BALL!!

It’s t-ball time. Our first scrimmage was at opening day on Saturday. The kids did great.

Jenna and Matt - 04.12.08

Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous spring day. Jenna and Matt totally lucked out. The skies were so blue! It was a little windy and I’ll share a story about that in a bit. We started off our day with hanging out with the girls and guys individually. The girls were on the ball and we had some fantastic time for creative portraits. The guys were a little slow to start but rebounded nicely.

Here are some of the pre-ceremony images:

Jenna.

We stopped at this covered bridge on the way to the ceremony. It was windy.

The glowing bride. Right after this one, a gust of wind blew Jenna’s veil off. Luckily it got caught on the wood of the bridge or it would have ended up in the creek.

The boys.

This is another one of my favorites. Tripp was one of the groomsmen and he was having some pants issues. This is Matt’s mom using our sewing kit to let the hem out of his pants and rehem them.

More with the girls.

Then it was time for the ceremony which went off without a hitch. The ceremony was held at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg. Jenna was so animated during the ceremony! After formal portraits, Ashley, the junior bridesmaid, requested a jumping shot. How could anyone say no.

I told you the day was beautiful.

One of my favorites of the day. These are the mothers right before they walked down the aisle.

The stunning couple.

A nice detail.

And the jumping shot.

Then it was off to the Gettysburg Hotel for the reception. The cake, by Karen Rodkey, was stunning and there was even a groom’s cake. The guests had a great time, especially when the groom grabbed the microphone and serenaded them with the Humpty Dance. :)

The hotel is beautiful at night.

The yellow and white cake by Karen Rodkey.

Jenna and Matthew’s first dance.

The rings.

We’re going to start sharing some of the unusual images that we capture during a wedding. Here is one:

And another:

The kids were so cute.

This was after the cake cutting. Jenna and Matt had agreed to not smash. Jenna changed her mind at the last minute and got him. I think she’s in trouble.

She doesn’t look scared.

Jenna’s grandparents have been married an AMAZING 59 years!!!

Thanks to both families for being so welcoming to us. We enjoyed spending the day with you. And Jenna and Matt, have fun on your honeymoon!
