Jenna and Matt - E-session

On Saturday, I met up with Jenna and Matt in Gettysburg for their engagement session. For all of you who think that the winter is not a good time to do an outdoor session, YOU ARE WRONG! It was fantastic. The light was great. The little bit of snow on the ground and trees was beautiful. And the flurries were the icing on the cake! I couldn’t have been happier, like a kid in a candy store.

The ring. Two versions. I couldn’t pick. Well three if you count the image above.

Bridal Show

Just wanted to let you all know that we will be at the Harrisburg Holiday Inn West’s Bridal Show on Sunday. The show runs from 11:30am-3pm.

Hope to see you there.

Some more from Alexandria/Georgetown

So, while we were away this weekend, I decided to assign myself with a little photography project. I love to shoot for myself and think it’s really important for photographers to do so. I wanted to focus my attention so I decided to give myself an assignment, kind of like I was back in school. My focus for the weekend was pattern. It’s amazing when you stop and look around, how many patterns you see. While I did complete my assignment, I strayed a little bit into some architectural photography but I could still find the pattern in them so I thought that was OK. ;)

Alexandria

This weekend, Andy and I went with our friends Todd and Kierstin to Alexandria, VA for some R&R. Todd and Kierstin were our tour guides as this was our first time visiting. It was also the first time that I have ever taken the Metro! When we arrived on Saturday, we took the Metro to Georgetown (another place that we had never been) and walked around the town for most of the day. After dinner in Alexandria, we hung out for most of the night talking and laughing. Unfortunately, I had been fighting a cold and Sunday morning I woke up feeling very badly so we ended up not going to Mount Vernon as we had planned. Maybe next time!

Anyhow, just wanted to share a few pictures with you all.

Here’s the gang at the Metro station:

Some fine art (much more to come this week):

And then for some wedding related info. It’s a running joke with my husband that we can’t go ANYWHERE and not either run into a wedding actually occurring, another wedding photographer, or a wedding related shop. So there we were walking down a side street in Alexandria when we ran across this in the window. Just thought I would share!! And just a note…if you decide to buy this dress, I WANT/NEED/WOULD FALL OVER BACKWARDS to shoot your wedding. ;)

Wall of Thanks

In my new meeting space, I’ve created this Wall of Thanks to hold all of the lovely thank you cards that I’ve received. It looks like I might have to get a bigger memo board to hold them all but that’s a good thing.

The other day, I received a thank you card from Megan and Brian, whose wedding I did this past summer. It moved me so much that I had to share it with you all.

Cyndi,

Where do we even begin? A simple “thank you” is not enough to express our gratitude. You’ve been kind and easy going from the moment we first met with you and we immediately fell in love with you and your style of photography! You have a way of taking photographs that’s truly unique. You capture the moments that can sometimes be overlooked, and yet, it’s those exact moments that you want to treasure forever! We knew right away that you were the perfect person for the job! You’ve heard it before (and I’m certain you’ll hear it over and over again) but your photographs are amazing and we’re blessed that we came across your name on The Knot! We’re certain we wouldn’t be as happy as we are, if someone else had take your place. It’s because of you that we’re able to look back at each tiny moment from our day that truly was on of the most special days of our lives! Ten, twenty and even sixty years from now, your photographs will make our day come to life again and will continue to bring us the joy we felt when we first saw them! Thanks for everything!!

Love,
Megan and Brian

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

Happy Heart Day to you all!! Two images for you today in honor of this LOVE HOLIDAY.

First, I stopped by Giordano’s Pastries this morning to pick up some of these oh so cute heart shaped cookies. They look as good as they taste!!

Second, my favorite chocolates. I know that I am in the heart of Hershey country but these Dove chocolates are just to die for. They are just the right size when I need a little chocolate pick me up. And I love reading the messages on the inside of the wrapper. Mine today said “Make someone melt today”.

However you choose to celebrate today, I hope that you have a good one.

Kade - 2 month

This week I visited Kade for his 2 month session. When I walked in, he was sitting up on the chair just smiling away. I thought his sister was cute but, oh boy, this little man is a cutie!

Heartbreaker.
