What a gorgeous weekend!! We were a little worried about the weather because earlier in the week, there was a chance for rain on Saturday. And we didn’t want anything to spoil the wedding of Katie and Dan. On Friday, we headed to the Farm at the Ford in Gettysburg for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The Farm at the Ford was a Civil War hospital and is actually Dan’s family farm. It was gorgeous. What a property!! And what a tent!! But we’ll get to that. First things first. The rehearsal was a bit chilly and ran a bit late but I think the smell of the pig roasting is what got everyone through it. That and the promise of a rocking night to come. Katie and Dan had hired a band (Borderline) for the rehearsal dinner.

Saturday turned out to be a stunning day. Not too windy, not too cold, and PLENTY of sunshine. We started the day with some detail shots of the venue and then Katie arrived to begin the getting ready process. Katie was breathtaking in her dress. Her Mom said that she bought it at Saks Fifth Avenue and I don’t think I’ve seen such a simple but elegant dress. The ceremony was just gorgeous. It was held beside the pond which made for a fantastic setting. And I’ve never before heard a processional with all of the music from the Sound of Music. Katie and Dan were troopers in hiking around the farm with me for pictures after the ceremony before heading to enjoy their cocktail hour and reception. The decor was out of this world, with tent and food by JDK and flowers by Blooms by Vickery. The White Wolf Group were our video partners in capturing all of the events and everything went off with out a hitch thanks to the expert planning of Your Big Day Weddings (Glenn and Emily).
On with the pictures:

There were 4 ringbearers, 10 bridesmaids, and 10 groomsmen!!

Katie and her dad were so cute together:

The rings. The groom actually made his own ring. Amazing!

I love to photograph cocktail hour when I get the chance. The expressions and conversations are always memorable.

As I said, the decor was just amazing:

The cake was made with love by a family friend.

The dances:

Reception fun:

Who knew pashminas could be worn on your head?

And what’s a wedding without a little “Don’t stop believin”
