Meredith and Patrick - 09.08.07
September 13, 2007 – 9:15 pm
We had another double header on Saturday, with Anne heading to the Reading area for the wedding of Meredith and Patrick. It’s always really nice when you show up and you know that photography is THE most important aspect of the day for the bridal couple. And that’s exactly what happened on Saturday. After some getting ready shots at the couple’s gorgeous home, everyone gathered at St. John’s Lutheran Church for the ceremony. Then after some fun at a local park, everyone headed to the Abraham Lincoln Hotel for the reception. Anne said that the food there was some of the best wedding food she has ever had so kudos to them!
Now for the day in pictures:
The shoes…
The dress…
I love a bride who can multi-task.
As I said, Anne said that Meredith and Patrick’s home was just stunning.
I have never seen this detail on a boutonniere and I just love it.
There were some great details at this wedding, thanks to Meredith, who designed most of them herself.
I love this shot of the girls before the ceremony.
And finally, some couple time.
EXCITING NEWS!!!
September 12, 2007 – 12:33 pm
I just found out that I’ve been accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association or WPJA. This is a quote directly from their site:
“The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography. ”
You have to apply to the association and they review your work to see if it meets their criteria. This was one of my goals when I started the business and I am just thrilled to have accomplished it.
My listing isn’t up yet on their site but when it is, it will be listed under Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Jennifer and Jeremy - 09.08.07
September 11, 2007 – 8:04 pm
On Saturday, Lauren and I headed to Mechanicsburg for the wedding of Jennifer and Jeremy. We started off at Jennifer’s parent’s house for some getting ready shots, then to the Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren for the ceremony and then to the Holiday Inn West for the rocking reception.
I knew it was going to be a good day when the little blue box made an appearance. I LOVE the little blue box!
Jennifer was beautiful. I’m always amazed at how different my brides look on their wedding day compared to their consultations or engagement sessions.
Waiting…
There’s something about this image that I like.
Yummy.
Jeremy gave his groomsmen these cool sneaks for the reception.
George Gilmore and the Giblets (a band from New York City) entertained the guests at the reception. They were absolutely fantastic!!!
You can just tell this little girl is thinking about her own future wedding.
This image is for Lauren.
Thanks J & J for a great day. Have a warm and relaxing honeymoon!
Whew!!

OK - I’ve caught up on the portraits for now. Tomorrow I will tackle our 2 weddings from this past weekend. Oh and start all over again with the seniors and e-sesisons that I have scheduled for the rest of this week.
Walker - Lifestyle Session
September 10, 2007 – 11:29 pm
On Sunday, I spent some time in the morning doing a lifestyle session with Walker. If you aren’t familiar with what lifestyle or documentary photography is, it just means that the subject is captured in their own environment, doing what they would normally do. In the case of Walker, he is a very active, VERY INTELLIGENT, 3 year old boy who kept me on my toes during our entire time together.
Right after my arrival. You can totally sense his excitement, can’t you.
Showing me his “RARRRRRR” flashlight.
One of my favorites from the day.
Walker read me this ENTIRE book and I was laughing so hard that I could barely keep my camea steady. He knew EVERY word and didn’t miss one section of the story.
Java the dog was less than thrilled by my presence.
Showing off his toys. Boys have the coolest toys. We don’t have any Matchbox or Tonka in this house.
We explored the whole house, including Walker’s bedroom. He has a cool race car bed that he was very proud of.
I just wanted to say a special thanks to Walker’s Mommy and Daddy for letting me hang out with you all.
Ashley and Tom - E-session
September 10, 2007 – 11:09 pm
Ashley and Tom came all the way from Massachusetts for their engagement session. Well not really but I like to think that they were so excited for it that they made a special trip to PA. Ashley and Tom are one of my “holiday” weekend couples next year. I had a great time getting to know them during our session and here are a few of my favorites from the day:
Krissy and Troy - E-session
September 10, 2007 – 11:05 pm
Wow, I really was behind in blogging. I recently had a couple of engagement sessions and realized tonight that I hadn’t blogged them yet YIKES! Anyhow, Krissy and Troy are one of my 2008 couples. Krissy and I have been getting to know each other while working on a special project (heheheheeee…;) ) but this was the first time that I met Troy. I was warned ahead of time that he “might” not be in to having his picture taken but he ended up being a trooper.
Here are a few from our time together:
